Zeta
Crysis is the most beautiful game ever but that is an interesting comparison. I looks more like a stylistic change than a draw down on the graphics.
dissonance
Think about per-leaf lighting for a second. It's still a few years off. And like F$#-whatever said; this is the demo. Things might yet change.
e-freak
2 completely different shots `? Shot nr 1 has a high above sun with a less dense tree and is shot in action (motionblur) while shot n2 is shot with lower sun and in a dense bush - no direct lighting at all. And it seems they toned down the render-contrast.
Mazy
You do have a point, but I dont really think that picture from the demo is the best showcase (Also I think it actually looks better for me on Very High). Still though, I remember that movie where the player is moving around in a very dense jungle, and the final game definitely doesn't look that tight, but close enough . I bet there are places in the full game that look even better than either of those pictures anyway~~stop whining!
D3ads
See that thing in the top right hand corner? No? Here's what it says; PRE RELEASE DEMO Again just in case you missed it; PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO PRE RELEASE DEMO kthxbai. ReNo
See that thing in the top right hand corner? No? Here's what it says; PRE RELEASE DEMO Again just in case you missed it; PRE RELEASE DEMO kthxbai. You can quote yourself til your blue in the face, but when a demo hits a month before the game does, it's hardly going to be a million miles from the same standard. I really doubt the full game will look better than the demo by anything other than minor touch ups. Crysis looks stunning, and I've not played it on very high so can't really comment, but the difference between those shots is massive. Not really fair to judge on just two screenshots, but I certainly didn't feel the game was as impressive visually in the demo as it was in the promo vids they've shown. KungFuSquirrel
Short of things that are simply disabled to save space or limit functionality, if a demo or beta comes out less than a few months before a game ships, nothing dramatic will change. Crysis went gold 3 days after the demo released. They're not fixing anything unless it can be easily patched for a day 1 release or it's worth nuking every manufactured disc (and lots of money) to fix it. clayman
demo means "demostration" and that demo doesnt demostrate jack.. you got F'ed in the A
D3ads
I'm just fed up of people moaning all the time, Crysis looks fucking stunning as it is, there's always someone who has to nit-pick at these things. Regardless of this it's still only a demo, I mean ET: Quake Wars turned out to look a Hell of a lot better as a finished article in comparison to the demo. dux
I never really gave it any thought but looking at that - it's a huge difference. Cut for performance, possibly? Considering the framerate now, with those shadows it would be pretty bad maybe?
-HP-
I didn't said Crysis doesn't look stunning, fuck yeah it does! In fact, I can even risk to say it's graphically the best game ever released 'till date, that's not the fucking point, I'm talking about misleading advertising here. I have no idea what happened here, but there's something that doesn't smell right. You really do expect to see any improvements to the level of the first screenshot in the full version? If this happens, I till ya, It's a gonna be a first in the games industry! Whatever man, dream on and keep on blaming the "PRE RELEASE DEMO", "very dense jungle" and "high above sun", yeah... I was naive too, once...

Ok... Crysis original offering: http://stage6.divx.com/user/sjiske/vide ... ameplay-HD http://stage6.divx.com/user/sjiske/vide ... espot-HD-2 Crysis PRE RELEASE DEMO @ High & DX10: http://stage6.divx.com/user/Reckon/vide ... DX-10-Demo Don't get me wrong here guys, I love Crysis as much as you do, I played the demo, loved it and I will DEFINITELY buy the game, and I will also try to make a couple of maps for this great engine, I'm just saying that if those videos released a couple of months ago were enhanced by CG techniques, It demonstrates lack of moral, honesty (or whatever you wanna call it) from EA.
