PogoP Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Meh, I wasn't really too impressed by the demo. Sure the graphics are nice but bloody hell it runs like a pig on my computer and the gameplay just seems to be cloak, shoot someone, recloak... All the time, same thing. Quote
-HP- Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I'd say you guys had you're expectations way to high for this game, now your'll all disappointed... Quote

DelaZ Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Crysis Single Player Demo Secrets (Spoilers)! With Sandbox 2 (the level editor from Crysis) I spawned some 'secret' entities at a beach in the single player demo and checked them out ingame. Be sure to check the last part, you can fly with a heli! Also featering: a nuclear grenade launcher, a mini gun, a tornado, C4 explosives, a scope, a tank etc... More screens over here: http://users.pandora.be/desert/delaz/crysis/ Quote
Mazy Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Holy fuck that looks soooooo much better than what I'm seeing. Shadows is everything :G Still dont get why it isn't rendering shadows even though I cranked it up to High :G Quote
Zyn Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 DX10 being better than DX9 is bollocks. If you're on Vista, open Games through the startmenu (Standard menu, not Classic), and rightclick on the Crysis SP Demo and you can select "PlayDX9" to play it in DX9 mode, with significant perfomance improvement. And here's how you get DX9 "High" setting to match "Very High" ... TWEAKS! : http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=101089 EDIT: A screenshot with the tweaks in DX9-mode: Quote
Skjalg Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 looking good isnt everything.. the feel of the game is a lot better with dx 10 because of the increase in performance when it comes to physics Quote
st0lve Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Also featering: a nuclear grenade launcherIs this a joke? Or is it the most popular weapon these days? Quote
Thrik Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 The gameplay seems really fun. I especially like that you can turn it into Metal Gear Solid FPS by using your stealth camo, sneaking up, throttling people, etc. The action also in general seems enjoyable and shows a lot of promise of some superb firefights and stuff. It looks like a game that'll let you approach many bits how you want to, like Far Cry I guess, rather than railroading you into the way the developers want it to play like a game such as Half-Life 2 does. The concept of killing people by throwing turtles at them is obviously also a huge win. Quote
Nysuatro Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I love the gameplay. I have played the demo 2 times already and it was always a pleasure to play. To bad the dirext 10 version goes much slower then direct 9. Why have I bought a graphix card of 500 euro for this Quote
