Lee3dee Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 http://store.valvesoftware.com/productp ... lDsgn.html I designed a TF2 map on paper, but I have never used Hammer, only Ue2 & Ue3, so trying to decide if its a good deal or not for a non-hammer user. Quote
fonfa Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Well, i never watched that but hammer is really easy to learn Quote
Rick_D Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 no better way than to learn from the people who use it 24/7 I would recommend it as it'll save you lots of back-and-forth between tutorial sites written by people who don't have a full grasp of the tools Quote

Defrag Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I personally wouldn't bother unless there's some positive reviews of that DVD. Hammer is fairly easy to learn. Quote
Sentura Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 yeah i had a look at it as well, and i pass the same judgment as KFS - not made by valve; i wouldnt bother. Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 If you do think video tutorials are the way to go, I'd snag the 3DBuzz selection on HL2. I can speak fairly highly for what I've seen of their productions in the past and their HL2 content is completely free. You'll need to register for the site, but that's another game you can buy this holiday season. Quote
