Mendasp Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Looks like a lot of NS.org forumites are registered here, huh? Even Nexus! Well, I don't know if I'll be able to finish this map before the devs decide to port or not NS to another engine (if they even do), so I'm being quite slow... Anyways, the pics (some of these are a bit old, but they show the basic idea anyways): Comments? Quote
Mazy Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Some quite interesting architecture (I havent been into the NS mapping community in.......uh a year, so I dont know if this is the new way to go now D:). Also the lighting looks really nice, some cool cold areas with the light shining down. Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Looks pretty original. The ceiling structure in 3rd and 2nd last shot could use some small fine tuning. Other than that, it looks interesting. Quote
RA7 Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Looks ver nice, but what i miss a lot in NS maps is sum outside area's. Quote
Taylor Swift Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Well..It looks nice, even if you could add more details, and some spotligts maybye. Yeah... maybye Quote
Evert Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Looking pretty good. On the first two pics tho, the lightning seems to be cast by them lamps, but the shadows are cast from those borders on top of the lights. Just looks a bit strange, nice work so far tho. Quote
Minos Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 I agree with RA7, NS maps lack some outdoor areas... That Nay's map was looking really sexy. About your map, I actually like it. The lighting is cool specially on the last pic. But it still needs that special thing... Quote

Campaignjunkie Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Architecture looks nice, but I don't know about your choice of lighting colors. Might want to consider using a Color Scheme Tool to harmonize the various colors going on in your map - I use it all the time myself, since I'm no good with colors. Here's the scheme I used to check your colors. Anyways, it matches everything for you quite nicely and generally serves as a reliable guide for colors, most of the time. Good luck! Quote
DD Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 You ns guys should try doom 3. You'll love it. Quote
Zazi Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 No! I hate the D3 editor! RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Duff-e Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 you should make an NS map that takes place in like a biodome or some shit....that way you can have trees etc but still keep the spacy feel....the whole cold industrial spaceship thing is getting kind of played IN Quote
Tequila Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 No! I hate the D3 editor! RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen, if they bring out GTK version for it, then I'll be interested. But by that time HL2 will have arrived, so nevermind. Quote
Taylor Swift Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Guess what? who cares, it seems like Mendasp got a full book of layout maps and other stuff. He is just pumping out maps. What a man, man he's the man you wont found essy. And i want more selene screenies. they rockks. Quote
D3adlode Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 It shows potential, I like the architecture in the first shot, not sure about all the coloured lights though... Quote
