FrieChamp Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 More funny videos by Frie! Yay! OK I just saw this over at SA and laughed my ass off. Some guy played "Deer Hunter 2005", which is similar to all the other deer hunters before, but apparently it has online multiplayer support, so instead of killing virtual deer on your own, you can do it with dumbass rednecks from all over the world. The game itself is pretty horrible apparently, but as previously mentioned - some people enjoy it, there are clans etc. The video is a compilation from ingame footage and the shittyness of the game is quite amusing, I recommend: Quote
Scinbed Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 hahahahaahahahahahahah oh my god I used to play this quite a bit with friends over lan, so I can relate to its retardedness. It was actually quite a fun and funny game tbh... But this video is possibly the funniest thing I've seen all month. Thanks! edit: by far the best feature was this bullet-time cam. D: Quote
jaboo224 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 rofl i remember playing that online for about 1 month. was interesting to bring hunting online. Quote
Psyshokiller Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 bahahahahahaha I couldn't stop laughing when they showed the quads, so retared looking animations and all. Quote
Rick_D Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 i don't think it's fair to slate the game that harshly. I played this with friends who weren't 'rednecks' at all; we enjoyed it thoroughly, it gets boring after a while but it is a pretty deep game - you can lay seed, set up traps and watch-posts in different seasons, come back later in the year and reap the rewards. I remember a chase that lasted about 30 - 40 minutes, where we had baout 6 people (all on vent) herding a single deer around a packed forest while one guy was trying to hit it with a bow. Not an easy task at all. Plus all the different landscapes and terrain. It's a really good game and it's not your usual 'oh look we gonna kill terrorists or aliens or koreans'. It's original and fun. yet at the same time it is packed with 'lol' moments, which makes it even more fun to play. After that rant tho, some of that video was really funny. Just ease up on the hate Quote
Minos Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Deer Hunter is ok, and it's in fact great considering it's a brazilian game. (I'm doing some freelance works for southlogic at the moment, they improved a lot since the last Deer Hunter ) Quote
propaganda Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 ...you can do it with dumbass rednecks from all over the world. This is rather offensive. Growing up in Canada I have hunted with my father since I was a kid, we are neither rednecks nor are we dumbasses. It's part of the culture here and many educated and decent people hunt here. Further to that my wife, who is from Brazil, fully supports this activity and is glad to cook and eat whatever I hunt for. Quote
-HP- Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Well, I don't condemn hunting animals for food, since they die instantly. Only thing I don condemn, is killing animals and taking they'r skin of while theyr still alive, to dress rich women. This video is well known around the internet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THmJgWcU04Y (I won't advice sensitive people to watch it tho) Quote

Depending on where the animal is hit, it could wander around for days until it dies, if the hunter doesn't find it. Doing it virtually is probably less harmful, but not less stupid to me. That's subjective though and I didn't mean to offend anyone. (but it still looks bad) Quote
Minos Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I honestly can't say I enjoyed playing the game either. One of the devs claimed the game was "ecological" but I strongly disagree. I can't see killing animals as ecological. But yeah, since it's aimed at hunters (exclusively) I guess it's ok. If Atari offered my company lots of money to make such a game I'd totaly do it, as there's a whole market and culture behind it (their playerbase is actually rather big. There even are sites where you can download custom maps, animals and stuff). I quit playing the game when I killed a squirrel though. I felt so pity for the poor creature... Quote
ShaDoW Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Funny how people react about killing virtual animals, when most of us are already killing virtual people (good & bad) every day. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 didn't someone here on mapcore actually work on that? Quote

Hey I only kill the bad guys, the animals are innocent. Also terrorists aren't furry and cute...most of the time... Quote
