-HP- Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Screens looks fantastic, I don't have the time to try it out now, but I will one of these days Quote
st0lve Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 afaik adam already has an account here, and have posted the first ones, that's why I though it was strange that some "random" guy posted it. Quote
Sentura Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 afaik adam already has an account here, and have posted the first ones, that's why I though it was strange that some "random" guy posted it. yeah i had somewhat the same feeling about this, and, having seen adam a on different fora, i would reckon he'd go by the handle 'adam foster'. nevertheless, it is an excellent story and i'd even go so far as to call it episode 2.5 Quote
Rick_D Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 well i downloaded it, i'll play it soon ;D thanks Quote
Method Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Very nice. I might reinstall HL2: Episode 1 to play this. You have a good understanding of relationship between form, space and lighting, Adam. You should consider applying for Valve soon. -Method Quote
Furyo Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Sorry but I guess I'm just daft...Is this the third installment to the series or have I already played it in its HL2 compatible form (if this is just a port to Episode I era Source)? Minerva has been the only mod I've installed for HL2 so far, and haven't uninstalled since. Quote
dissonance Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Minerva has been the only mod I've installed for HL2 so far, and haven't uninstalled since.QFT. As frustrating as it is when I get stuck (am I the only one who finds some of the solutions not obvious?), it's the most fun I've had with singleplayer HL2 outside Valve's content. I agree with Method. Have you shown this to Valve? Have they asked you about it? I can't imagine they haven't noticed a mod like this. Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Have you shown this to Valve? Have they asked you about it? I can't imagine they haven't noticed a mod like this. http://www.hylobatidae.org/minerva/blog ... info&id=52 Also, clearly spotlight-worthy. I don't know how to do it myself (if I even can, haha) or I would. I guess I can move it to the forum but beyond that I fail. Quote
D3ads Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 looks better than anything Valve did! You must be blind son! Not really, the lighting is exceptional.. Quote
Rick_D Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 I honestly wouldn't go that far - maybe you should play it - it has some really nice architecture and well designed and thoroughly thought out areas, but it's mixed with a lot of things that need a bit of work to move up to valve standards. It's a good series of maps but it does need a larger team before you can start comparing it to valve's work Quote
Mr. Happy Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Unfortunately I agree with Rick_D. I'm a huge fan of the Minerva series, but it's not quite up to par with Valve's work gameplay wise. But that's not to say it isn't the best SP mod for HL2, especially the best SP mod set in the HL2 universe. and it's so good that even though its really only a map-pack it deserves to be called a mod Quote
DocRock Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I would love to see the .vmf of this thing. Can ya post a screenie of it as ya worked on it in hammer? Quote
