e-freak Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I think that Brazil and Portugese have more gamers. Infact it seems that the brazilian cities are more western in this aspect than the spanish parts of latin-america and as a such there are more portugese people at steam Quote
BaRRaKID Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 ":1r0gwrtl] FTW QFT But like was said before in Brazil they also speak Portuguese, and also in some African and Indian countries (which probably don't have that many gamers). And there are many more countries on top of Spain in the Steam survey, so i don't see what's the point of making a translation in Spanish :S And i hardly believe that the Steam survey crashes just in Spain... Gorion Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 it doesn't matter at all. games should be played in english, with english voices etc. your digital, and the 1 language spoken in the digital world = english, learn it gtfo. Quote
-HP- Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I agree with Gorion there! Like, for instance, I've been told in France, they translate all the vocals of the movies to French before passing the movies on the big screen, I'm mean, that's so stupid, imagine the actors opening they'r mouths and something completely different comes out of it, lol, just plain stupid, but oh well, just my opinion. e-freak Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 it's not stupid - it's a matter of tech. In Germany we have as well every movie and game translated (although I prefer to watch in original language) and in the most cases it may lack one or two language based jokes but is fairly good done and synchron so you won't notice the difference. There are even examples where the german translation is better than the origin (e.g. Whoopie Goldberg stated that she liked her german synchronisation more than her own speech) Quote
