MrH2o Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Check this out, its a huge difference http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/34748/Crysis-Detail-Levels-Compared/p1/c2 but this makes me sad "Also note that the beta includes an Extreme option that is greyed out as no commercially available hardware can produce the settings at a satisfactory frame rate." I wonder what settings they used for the high ones Quote
R_Yell Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 The lowest one is ugly, looks like an unlighted Source level . Just hope I won't have to use that one. The extreme one I guess is just to impress people Quote
Algor Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 sweet jesus @ DX10 one, so many subtleties there that just pull the whole picture together. i love the rays of light going through the trees and the way the rocks really "pop", or maybe that's because they're actually models there? Quote
-HP- Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 "Also note that the beta includes an Extreme option that is greyed out as no commercially available hardware can produce the settings at a satisfactory frame rate." ah ah ah ah ! How did they tested this then? WIth a super computer? Quote
Chunks Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I'm kinda bummed that a game is already out that will rape my relatively new comp. Quote

Mazy Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Aye, I think High DX9 is fine for me. I'm not using Vista on my work machine, and I'm not quite sure if I'm gonna bother getting a new computer for this. Oh and Low looks way worse than FarCry imo, lighting is unbelievably terrible. Quote

The small rocks/pebbles aren't models, it's a texture that makes use of the parallax mapping Quote
