MrH2o
I remember going into #mapcore and gather around people for some fun hours of the (leaked if i rember correctly) Soldier of Fortune 2 demo. The Soldier of Fortune series have been good (altho I haven´t finished any of them) and with todays capabilities the 3rd installment could be a sucess....but Looks like the gonna rush a product that no one even heard about and not next year or holiday season, nope November 21st is the date. Why the lack of fanfare? It's a budget game, being launched under the Activision Value label, and won't feature either Raven Software or the series' GHOUL body-separating tech. Sad. Read about it here http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2007/09/soldier_of_fortune_payback_det.html
Sa74n
doesnt look like a budget game.. at least not visually. its gonna be boring crap tho if theres no gore meh, stupid hotlinking heres the pics: http://gameplanets.blogspot.com/2007/10 ... shots.html
Thrik
Graphically it's very nice, but if it's a budget title I expect the single-player campaign will be very lacking. Considering the earlier Soldier of Fortune games were very well known for their multiplayer, they'll probably put a lot of focus on that. For this very reason I expect it will be only single player. Budget MP titles aren't good business, even for the Value label. Personally I'm going to pretend this title doesn't exist... there was a video that showed up yesterday (looks like it was a marketing pitch video, it had powerpoint bullet points at the end talking about a loyal online fan base, 31% take rate, and the sales of the first two games) that was... well... Thrik
The article says it does have 16-player multiplayer KFS, so I drew the connection based on that. The older games were more popular for their MP than their SP from what I remember, so I thought they'd put some heavy emphasis on it. D3ads
I don't see any evidence of SOF characters in the screenshots so it might as well be yet another modern combat game...

Well, that should be interesting then. Still expect them to focus on SP - even if the MP modes were more popular, it's always received the brunt of its focus on SP. KungFuSquirrel
This is what happens when you farm out a franchise to your value publisher to keep from losing the trademark. :\
