Grinwhrl Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 We played it for a bit at work, and people have been playing it at home. From what we've surmised this 100% BEST GAME MADE AND WILL EVER BE MADE is a little off the mark. Where does everyone hear its the best game ever made and to ever be made from? Halo 3 has/had a shit load of hype and it paid off from what the game earned. I think its been a great looking and fun game to play, mainly co-op. So many extra features to get lost in and lots of re-playability. It deserves its high mark if not higher. Quote

Grinwhrl Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Oh yeah, haha I stayed away from reading them, just seen the ratings. They must be super fanboys I assume. Quote
Thrik Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Those review scores are absolutely insane. I haven't played Halo 3 and so am reserving my own judgement, but those scores can't be truly justified. They can't be! Quote
Chunks Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 my roommate got it the other day. One thing that puzzled me though, is it really possible to do 16 player coop singe player campaign? Quote
Grinwhrl Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Yeah I doubt it, but it does say 1-16 players when you join your friends before the game starts. There isnt any other co-op from what I say. Quote
Xanthi Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 I bought it and its pretty cool the outdoor environments are really nice, but most indoor area's are looking like shit due the lighting. Multiplayer is cool to but I like cod4 more. If I was a reviewer I gave it a 8. Quote
Skjalg Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 a major Norwegian newspaper (online ed) gave the game a 4/6 on the dice. (a score I completely agree with) The reviewer received a number of death threats from fan boys after that. lol people are lame Quote
Mazy Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Started playing the campaign on Legendary alone yesterday. Insanely hard, I was more kinda preparing for playing some co-op Legendary later on, but its actually a lot of fun trying to do it on your own without the respawns. The AI is just so brutal and clever at flanking that you really need to keep on your toes, and while you'll be able to take a few steps back and pick guys off from a distance in some situations, then there are others where you just need to engage it like a puzzle from each checkpoint, and plan carefully how to get each enemy. Also the enemies you didn't even notice on Normal or Heroic suddenly become an actual obstacle here. Really having an awesome time with it on Legendary, great stuff for when you've completed the game. Takes me about 3x the time it took on my first play through Quote
ReNo Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Halo games are some of the few I actually go through twice - I always play through on heroic and then fight my way through legendary. I had some mates over the other day, including one with his 360, and we got a Halo 3 system link on the go. For those still wondering, 4 player coop is the most - don't really know why it allows 16 in the lobby (I guess because 16 is the most for multiplayer, and they use the same lobby system) but 4 is definately the most that can play. But oh what fun that is Before everyone arrived we also did a 2 player coop with a screen each, and that was arguably even better as the two of us are both pretty well versed with Halo. We played on Legendary with 3 of the unlockable difficulty modifiers on - enemies have double health, no radar, and (hardest of all!) shields only regenerate by doing melee attacks. Ooof. Hard work, but satisfying as hell. Forces you to play so differently, as we were head shotting brutes from a distance and leaving the weaker enemies alive so we could charge in and use them like a health pack Quote
Ginger Lord Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 My housemate has it and it looks ok, nothing special visuals wise to a PC gamer. The splitscreen keeping the aspect ratio is hilarious though, he was not amused when he got massive black bars down the side of his 24" Dell monitor. Quote
