Mazy Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84162 Hmmm Quote
Erratic Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84162 Hmmm Oh yeah, I'd been keeping up on that ever since the thread over at Neogaf starting getting bloated and unfortunately it seems to be true. I opened mine up at the store and the disc was out of its holder and scratched up. Did this about three times before I settled for the standard edition as I just wanted to get out of there. Sucks though, initially I didn't think it was going to be such a wide spread problem but it seems to pretty consistent with the limited edition. Quote
Mazy Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Yeah, I'm more or less convinced that I'll just go with the regular version as well. I don't really care that much about bonus material anyway, plus I kinda prefer having the regular sized cases as opposed to the giant tin boxes (Although it can be nice once in a while ). Quote
Mazy Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Well, I had them open a LE in the store and it was perfectly fine, so I went with that Guess its not as widespread as I thought Quote
ReNo Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 My LE copy arrived with the disk free of the holder and several minor scratches, so from this entirely anecdotal evidence, I guess it is widespread The game appears to work fine though, hopefully I won't run into any problems. Quote
Mazy Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Finished the campaign yesterday. Pretty good stuff, there was definitely some of the last levels that rubbed me in the wrong way, but overall it had some really good stuff, definitely going to replay it in co-op. Its kinda funny with the graphics, the outdoor areas generally look absolutely gorgeous (<3 their HDR) but the indoors are for the most part dreadfully fugly, especially the indoor lighting. Oh and I really REALLY tried my best to follow the story closely this time around, but halfway through I reached a point where I had no idea why I was going to press some button at some place or do something and then I lost it. Good thing that the actual gameplay is good enough to not bog down the fact that they're horrible at telling stories (or maybe it just isn't that interesting a story to begin with ) Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 I picked it up yesterday, started the campaign, discovered that all dialogues are localized to German, cringed and now I'm too scared to switch it back on. Seriously, the localization is horrible, horrible. I recommend anyone to order an English copy, or is there some way to switch the audio? Quote
Mazy Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Duuude, thats awful. English should always be an option in these localized games, but I'm guessing that its fairly common in Germany to only have the German stuff present. Quote

There could be a good story in there somewhere but damn, they didn't communicate it very well. Oh well. Onto the multiplayer that shall consume all my time for the next little while. Quote
Algor Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Duuude, thats awful. English should always be an option in these localized games, but I'm guessing that its fairly common in Germany to only have the German stuff present. Disc space is always a concern I bet they would include multiple languages if they could fit, but by the sound of it, there's enough audio on there as it is for just one language. Too bad though, I always prefer to hear movies in their original audio. Quote
Grinwhrl Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 awesome game, 3 - 4 player co op is so much fun.. I am enjoying this as much as gears! Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Sheesh Algor - I almost read that!! Doesn't the thread title already say "no spoilers"?! Create a seperate thread including a "spoilers" tag please. Quote
Algor Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Yeah, I know how to read. What was wrong with what I said? It was pure gameplay, not scripted. It could happen, or not. Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 I didn't finish reading it, your talk about spoilers and the font creeped me out enough Quote
Taylor Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 We played it for a bit at work, and people have been playing it at home. From what we've surmised this 100% BEST GAME MADE AND WILL EVER BE MADE is a little off the mark. Quote
