st0lve Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Do you have to buy the orange box? or is it possible to buy tf2 alone? Quote
Psy Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 You have to buy the orange box at the moment. They will release each game separately at a later point. Quote
Chunks Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Who's up for recreating cross the border? That was one of my fav maps from quakeworld TF. I don't know how you would go about it coding-wise. Quote
Mazy Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Deeeeecrypting steeeeam fiiiiles! Quote
Zacker Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Anyone who knows what the "Expanded HDR" option in TF2 covers? Quote
skdr Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 It works! It's beautiful! http://3decade.com/tf2/ctf_2fort0000.jpg Quote
Thrik Posted September 18, 2007 Author Report Posted September 18, 2007 Oh man, stuck here at work for the next eight hours. Quote
Mazy Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Looks amazing, and theres so many details when you look up close, yet it still has a really cool simplistic cartoony look. Brilliant. Also I checked out the first commentary, really good stuff. The addition of being able to skip to the next node makes it so much easier to use, instead of forcing you to find them. Too bad that we cant play outside the building here, stupid firewall. Had a 1on1 tho Oh and the papers flying from the people who has the briefcase = brilliant! Both cool looking and practical for the gameplay. Quote
GregBoffins Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 It works! It's beautiful! http://3decade.com/tf2/ctf_2fort0000.jpg Hrm looks *ok* I prefer the look of fortress forever. The hud itself makes me want to rip my eyes out. (yeah I am not a big fan of cartoony stuff in games). Quote
Hipshot Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Looks awful. Don't like the cartonish graphics, not at all. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 look goddamn awesome from that screen, but the chrome-water looks weird though. Quote
Zyn Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Phew, just purchased The Orange Box and downloading TF2 Quote
Thrik Posted September 18, 2007 Author Report Posted September 18, 2007 Kind of weirds me out that some people are so opposed to stylised cartoon graphics in games (although I'd say this is more designed to resemble a CGI movie than a cartoon). I mean, there're a million games out there that do the grittier look and do it well. I have to agree that the water looks weird there, though. I could have sworn it looked different in earlier promotional material. Maybe it looks less weird in motion. Quote
Mazy Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Aye, the water does tend to look a bit too "chromish" from certain angles. Looks good when you look at it top down though. Quote
