Buddy Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 I noticed that now, Medics, heal Pyros instead of Heavys Quote
Thrik Posted September 29, 2007 Author Report Posted September 29, 2007 Yes, the Pyros (made better last night) are pretty fiesty now. I've seen a few people complaining about them, but to be honest they're not killing people any more than other classes; if it were a Soldier who kept killing them, they wouldn't complain. They're just not used to a Pyro *gasp* killing them. Although with that said, my personal belief is that the Pyro requires little skill to use since all you essentially need to do is get close and then keep the nozzle pointed at the enemy; it doesn't have much of a skill curve at all, meaning someone who's been playing as one for five minutes can probably play just as well as someone who's been playing as one for a month. Really good Soldiers and Demomen, on the other hand, I can see becoming almost untouchable. Still, if it provides people with a fun time then who cares? Quote

Really good Soldiers and Demomen, on the other hand, I can see becoming almost untouchable. I don't know about that, there's still a bit of skill and cleverness needed to outperform other classes a lot of the time. Combining the flamethrower and shotgun especially will give you a big advantage, backing away after having set someone ablaze and then blasting them away with the shotty. It's just not something I see the average player doing, as they usually just rush you and hope for the best Quote
Zyn Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Valve is considering removing the shotgun for the Pyro and give him something that fits the class better ... or so I heard. Quote

Bic-B@ll Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 the last update let me load the game. it was far too laggy for me to enjoy it at all. Quote
Fletch Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Ahhhh, rocked as the Pyro tonight, which I'm so happy about. I was always Sniper or Pyro in TFC, and I've just felt lost without having a good Pyro in TF2. We played some gravelpit tonight, and there were 8 guys standing on a cap point (we were just letting them have it). I snuck in, lit them all on fire, and ran around like a maniac to avoid fire. They still capped the point, but 5 of them dropped dead right afterwards. Good times. Quote
Taylor Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 But... the Pyro in TFC was a complete joke and people only picked him for comedy effect. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 I was always Sniper or Pyro in TFC lol Quote
