I just found out about this cool forum a week ago. Very nice ! Thanks Furyo !

After a successful playtest courtesy of the 415 clan. I'm proud to release dod_copse_b1 to the public. It's a small, very fast paced, symmetrical CTF map with 3 flags. This map took approximately 2 weeks to create.

The Setting:

France 1942: Allied and Axis forces are involved in heavy fighting over Haché Copse, located approximately 10 km NW of St.Mére Eglise, France.

Objectives:

First team to capture all 3 flags wins !

Other Maps by Author:

dod_sora

dod_pier

hl2dm_district33

dod_flurry_b2

dod_U471_b2

dod_V2_b3

Spawn Points:

40

Very Special Thanks: 3d-Mike for the foliage and some textures,The Surgeon for foliage and the Opel Blitz model, Pedroleum for the GMC CCKW model, Sunlit Games and the 415 Clan for the servers and private tests.

the tree should get an extra model when it is fallen. looks weird when all branches stay upwards.

overall i think you got a nice setting but only use like 10% of what you could do with it.

you could add some kind of subterrain parts, munition camps, light areas, wooden bunker-like things. to give you some inspiration i just played my favorit level from call of duty 3 and made some screenshots with a digital camera :D

Cool, that Call of Duty 3 level looks nice ! I don't have that game. :(

For Copse, I was shooting for a simple layout and design for fast gameplay and good fps! I created and released dod_V2_b3, obj based, looks similar to copse. It is much larger and contains buildings, treelookouts, etc and a V2 rocket camp. I'm not done with forest themed maps yet, there aren't nearly enough of them. 99% of all dods maps are villages now. It's getting old. I'll keep trying to create different layouts and new things !

Thanks for your suggestions and the pics ! I need to see CoD3 for sure now ! Is that PS2 or 3?

:)

I concur, once I'm finished with Hachau I'm going to do a remake of forest more then likely and see how that goes :)

Oh and Cod 3 is PS3/Xbox 360 isn't it?

See no offense, and I do not want to blame you, but this is IMHO one of the issues of DoD:source mapping community...

Look at the DoDS maps available @LanManiax, most of them are in beta stage , some of them for ages, and they will probably never be released as final.

As a player who like custom maps (and who is unable to make them himself ;)), I find this very frustrating.
