[Photos] Bulgaria photopack

Wohoo, at last. It took some time - had problems with the cam and the hosting - but it's up now.

What's this?

This is a photopack in .tar.bz2 format (every decent extractor such as WinRar will do it), with 650MB or 259 high quality JPEG photos made in Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Targovishte, Goljamo Drjanovo), taken with a Sony DSC-W50. Here are some examples:

Cool, what about licensing?

Since I'm a fanatic, there'll be three possible licenses. Either the GPL v2.0 or newer and/or CC-by-SA 3.0 or (and only or - tribute to <3 hessi)

All photos you downloaded are not for commercial usage!

If you want to use any of these photos in a free uncommercial

project then you can do it. This includes game mods that are

not reselled as retail version or don't make profit in any

other way.

Nobody is allowed to redistribute these photos in any other way

(new torrent/dvd/download or any other way of distribution), except you choose one of the free licenses.

Ok, where can I download this?

Nice one :)

Should get a torrent going too, if possible.

*edit - to anyone who opens this and then wonders why winrar doesn't appear instantly, give it a while. I'm running a dual core and it still took something like 30 seconds for Winrar to appear and give me any kind of progress update (usually opens instantly for me).

After looking at all the pics, I deleted many of them simply since I couldn't see myself using them (as in making textures with them). If you guys have more architectural ref pics, then those would be even more appreciated by yours truly :)

Still, many thanks for sharing this :)

quoted for truth. i really appreciate that you have put some time into making photos and sharing them with us, but in my opinion you need to learn how to make references people will actually be able to use. for example you got lots of nice ground textures but it seems like you made photos with a strong zoom or were too close. 4 brick stones are not enough to make a texture. sometimes images are unsharp because you used some kind of automatic mode while running in low iso values.

in any way: you are still very young and got still got lots of time to become better :) thanks for the share!

It's probably because I'm a little shivery, I dont have a tripod (well, I won't need a tripod for ground pics anyway^^) and also because of my camera. I can't adjust the ISO values on my DSC-W50 :(

I indeed didn't choose very good angles and distances - need some practice ^^
