Johnny Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 To whom it may concern: I have recently learned that our dear friend Rick "Rick_D" D has been banned from the Mapcore forums. I didn't think this was such a big deal until I found out that not only was his home IP banned, but also his work IP. When I asked Rick ("Valiant Keeper of the Light, Justice, Good, Freewill, and Posterity" as I like to call him) why he had been banned, he was unable to provide me with a reason. I tried to get to the bottom of this brain-buster by asking some of the locals in the Internet Relay Chat channel, however none had any clue whatsoever. By definition, this is a textbook example of a conspiracy. It is shocking to me and my peers that such censorship could possibly control our lives like this without any rhyme or reason. I'm sorry it has to come down to this, but we as a community demand some answers. I am currently setting up http://www.mapcoreforums.tk in which all users are prepared to move to if this issue is not resolved promptly. I am also pledging to wear this wristband until valued forum member Rick_D is restored to full posting eligibility. FrieChamp Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 It was a majority decision among the moderators, following a series of ruthless behavior despite plenty of warnings. I also told him that on IRC after he contacted me about it the same evening. A couple of days passed between the last report of bad behavior, the decision to ban him and the actual ban, this is maybe why Rick was puzzled for what he got banned. Also the fact that his IP got banned and he couldn't access the PM sent by the admin is unfortunate. But as I said, me and other mods talked to him on IRC. Also it is a temporary ban. Hope that answers most of your questions.

If act like a racist, homophobic twat, you get banned. Period. Don't like it? Leave. It's not a fucking democracy.
