Buddy Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 The world map seems small, right? I hope they have countrysides like the first one did. Looks like there are routes outside the map simmilar to Mafia 1 so it might be likes this, which is nice . Its supposed to be twice as big as Mafia 1 city which wasnt too big nor too small and city map of this one seems smaller for some reason? Maybe its because of how the map looks like on paper or something. I'm in two-minds because i felt like GTA IV city was already tad too big for storyline side of things but great for exploring. So if the city size is smaller than IV but bigger than M1 I'm happy I played the demo again today, i liked the way they solved 'hidden packages' in this game, will make me want to actually find them all Also I got used to driving and other things that irritated me at first. So i'm pretty much getting it day 1 ps. noticed how there is no magazine in the mg you use at the start of the game? Isnt it supposed to have ammo belt or something? Quote
Defrag Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 The demo was short but decent. The major downside for me was that, even in the demo mission, I had "where do I go now?" syndrome in a few places, as when your crew member guy gets shot, your buddy who's carrying him fails to stick close to you even when you take the correct route. You run down the stairs and along the room for quite a bit and nothing happens. The guy then infinitely repeats the same dialogue until you figure out that you have to run along a little further. Duff-e Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I'm Italian and I live in an area with lots of Italian Americans. If anyone perpetuates the stereotype they do. Quote
D3ads Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Onoes, another violent game is released, let's make controversy Quote
twiz Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Mafia Mafia properly refers to a number of Italian criminal organizations, particularly the Sicilian Mafia and the American Mafia. The Italian-American Mafia continues to dominate organized crime in the U.S. It uses this status to maintain control over much of the organized crime activity in Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Providence, New Jersey, and New York City, as well as in other cities in the Northeastern United States and across the country, such as Las Vegas, Tampa, New Orleans, Miami, Kansas City, Milwaukee, and many others. Uhh... pretty sure there's a difference between facts and stereotypes. And I'm pretty sure the game is not implying that EVERY italian-american ever to walk the earth was in the mafia and a cold blooded murderer. Just most of them Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 anyone play the demo on a 360? how does it play? i might just get a 360 cops since it doesnt run on my pc good Quote
Buddy Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/mafia-ii It's not getting exactly raving reviews unfortunately, i think a lot of it is due to the fact that people expect more of an GTA game than anything. Mafia 1 had the same problem back when it was released. Quote
