TeddyBear Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 ...on buying a digital camera. I have quite specific needs but I know very little about digital cameras. I would very much appreciate any guidelines I could get The camera may cost up to $10,000. It needs to manage the following: 1. High quality rapid-sequence photography 2. At least 8MP image resolution output Any kind of suggestions are much welcome Quote
hessi Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 1. High quality rapid-sequence photography what would that mean? like 30fps for 5 minutes? if you need like 110 image (JPEG) sequence capacity and 10fps you would need to go for a professional camera like the EOS 1D's if you need less like 3fps and up to 27 images (JPEG) then a EOS 400D would be fine. TeddyBear Posted August 6, 2007 Author Report Posted August 6, 2007 Ah, I'm sorry, forgot to specify there. Yes, 10FPS should do well - I will look into those cameras. Thanks alot Edit: EOS 1D Mark III seems to be the camera I am looking for. Thanks again, hessi Quote
e-freak Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 what the heck do you need such a cam for? Quote
Flow Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 EOS 1D Mark III seems to be the camera I am looking for. Thanks again, hessi EOS 1DMIII (not 1Ds) is the perfect camera then, you have already given the limiting requirement of 10fps (e.g the Nikon equivalent D2Hs is "only" 8fps) . The 1D MIII is more than capable of what you are probably searching for. Although, given the high price of around 5,500$ (only converted price from current €-worth), you will have to spend at least another 3-4k for appropriate lenses (Unless you already own some) - Depending on the focal length range you're trying to cover.
