Erratic
There's a short interview with ICO/Shadow of the Colossus creator about his take on the God of War games over at Cory Barlog's blog. It's a quick little read but it's not often you see Japanese developers talk about other games very often. Especially Western ones. Wish this kind of open discussion occurred more often in game development http://corybarlog.blogspot.com/2007/08/ico-of-war.html Also, that blog displays weird in Firefox for some reason. Sentura
pretty interesting to say the least. i am a bit puzzled about his actualy opinion on the game(s) in general. it seems that he likes them but then goes and says that it's low poly and that the japanese would make it different? having played both games i can say that i think of them as the epitome of console gaming; quite possibly the 2 best console games i have ever laid my hands on. original i thought that the genre died out with golden axe on the snes/genesis/other systems, but this resurrection really made a nice contrast to the standard pc games you get nowadays (i only played them recently, some 2 weeks ago). GoW I/II or ICO and SotC? Either way, I agree. The translation is a little iffy, yeah, little confusion in places but you take away the gist of what he's getting at. FMPONE
SotC is probably one of the best games in history, I don't think GoW really stacks up fun as it is I'd kiss this guy's feet, though
Pericolos0
cool interview! God of war and god of war 2 are probably some of my most favorite games ever . And ico has definitely been the most unique gameplay experience i ever had.

Sentura
i was referring to god of war 1 and 2. i have yet to buy sotc and ico but i am in shortage of monae atm. skjalg: those games alone make up for getting a ps2, add to that many other games like beyond good and evil and gh. it's cheap now should i suggest you get it
Taylor
There are other genres out there than D&D RPG, RTS and FPS. Get a console already.
Skjalg
my student loan barely covers a bed and food on the table. I've worked alot this summer though, to earn cash for a new computer. Would you guys suggest I buy a ps2 and play 3-4 games, or should I put everything into a new computer so I can run all these new beautiful games that are coming to the PC soon. (Age of Conan, Crysis, etc etc) ?

(Age of Conan, Crysis, etc etc) ? its the best time now to buy a ps2, the games and the console are dirt cheap! I know you'll get a lot more fun out of the ps2 than the few good pc games that are coming out in the future. You could probably buy a new ps2 game every month for the same price as your montly age of conan subscription.
Thrik
You can get a PS2 for such a small amount these days it's ridiculous. A new slim PS2 (the redesigned smaller version) could be had for less than £100 even a year ago, and the games can be found off sites like Amazon at excellent prices. And the console itself for that matter. So many good games on it, you'd be crazy not to. All the ones mentioned in this thread so far, plus pick up Metal Gear Solid 3 while you're at it. (It's a prequel to the other two so it doesn't matter if it's the first one you play.)
e-freak
Why doesn't sony sell a ps2 emulator (maybe even hardware based as pc-plugin)? I like the PS2 very much but it is so annoying to have another box in the TV-Locker. They could sell it for 30$+ and I think it would sell better than the last series of ps2s.
