Steppenwolf Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 You gotta check this out. It's unbelievable, considering the filesize (180Kb). http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=30244 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=v0Eg3dBnsHk (youtube for people who dont want to install it on their PC's but its definately even more impressing in real) Quote
⌐■_■ Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Took me a while to load but it looked pretty damn amazing. Quote
aevirex Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 I saw this quite some time ago. Indeed _very_ stunning. (Farbrausch are offering their procedural framework (commercially) and a new .werkkzeug (free) btw, clicky) Quote
Thrik Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Yeah, good stuff. I actually think the YouTube version is more preferable to watch though as it looks kind of like ass in 1920x1200, while the low quality YouTube version smooths out all the glitches and shit. All the bits of building and stuff look particularly poor (when they crumble, and the sky, etc), while on the YouTube version they look great. Although I am aware that 100% destroys the point of it being only 170kb or whatever. Quote
⌐■_■ Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Agreed. A part from that I also like the choreographies in combination with the music. Stylish. Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Saw it before. Cool stuff. It was made by the same demoscene guys (.theprodukkt) who made .kkrieger (the FPS in 96K) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kkrieger Quote
D3ads Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I never got .kkrieger to run on my old machine, I got about 3 FPS This looks just as impressive considering the tiny file size Quote
Fergo Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 There's some demos with only 256 bytes too ( .com file ). Click on the thumb to download. http://www.256b.com/demo/402 http://www.256b.com/demo/412 Quote
Grin Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 The Assembly demo festival starts this thursday ang goes from there to sunday. I think it's one of the best demo parties ever, and I've been to many, to assembly every year since 2000. What really gets me are the 4k and 64k intros and how they have evolved from the beginning of the 90's. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HK3jEoBrx5w one of my favorites by Fairlight, 64k. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 I think my favourite 64k intro evr is FR-019:poem to a horse. it was just so awesome when it came out (2002) and the music still rocks. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mrqFrnorcEQ And my favourite from last year Conspiracy - Chaos Theory: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ciIeJk3COAg Quote
