FrieChamp Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Video demonstration with Hideo Kojima: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/22702.html
Mazy Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 YOSH! I bought a PS3 to be able to check out the pr0n in MGS4~ Awesome. They should map that camo stuff to a button though. I hated that you had to go into a menu every time you wanted to change it in MGS3. Oh and hopefully the AI characters were blind in the demo, because they didn't really seem too smart even within MGS standards
dux Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 lol that footage was just wacky. 'I'll just stop in the middle of a battlefield to look at FHM.'
skdr Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Gameplay looks very clumsy to me, anyone else? It's a nice looking game tho
ChopperDave Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I was wondering when they'd let you roll while prone. Looks like they finally got around to that. I especially liked the part where Snake shot the guys up on the roof and then they just dove off the edge. Just like real life! Otherwise, it looks like loads of fun.
General Vivi Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 looks awesome! can't wait to play it! Hopefully they will release on xbox also ^^
Lee3dee Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 i was drooling! makes me want to get a ps3, when the game comes out, nothing for me to get it for at the moment.
FMPONE Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I may have to buy a PS3 for this game its shaping up so well, I think the graphics could be better though. A bit on the bland side, needs some damn colors in there
Erratic Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I dunno, ever since Snake Eater I've been really turned against the Metal Gear series and this seems to be taking it even further. The number of actions that snake can perform seems to have tripled and I found that controlling snake in the last game was cumbersome enough. Stuff like an over the shoulder view and a first person view. I just don't really see the need for having both. Sure it's cool to have options, but I'm getting the sense the game can't decide what it wants to be exactly. And with all these actions available to Snake there must be some redundancy going on. I'm all for giving players control and choosing how they want to play the game, but if there's no real need for certain actions, it's kind of empty design. Not to mention adding to the complexity of playing the game. Yes, no one's played it yet so I'm basically talking out of my ass but I'm a bit worried about some of the stuff I saw going on. That and the past game's tendency towards similar things. That aside, I really do like the setting and the scenario. How you're sort of on the sidelines and your interaction with the factions can alter the way stuff plays out. Plus the crawling/rolling/shooting on your back stuff was really neat, but again, how many different states can Snake have? Oh, and of course it looks bad ass all around, from the environments to the effects.
Thrik Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I thought Snake Eater was the best game in the series as far as gameplay goes, by a very long way. Granted, I still enjoy a bit of the indoor action that Twin Snakes and MGS2 offer, but the gameplay is so rounded in MGS3 and you feel so truly out there in the world I fail to see how anyone couldn't enjoy it. Not discounting your opinion or anything, but just pointing out that not everyone agrees with your interpretation of MGS3 as a step down for the series. I thought the majority of it was excellently implemented, especially the CQC moves; however, the whole healing/eating thing could have been streamlined more. Beats more of the same at the very least, no?
Erratic Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Actually, I generally like where they're taking it this time, I'm just kinda torn with the further addition of minute actions for Snake. As far as Snake Eater goes I probably should have enjoyed it more considering I loved the first two. Just a combination of the micromanagement stuff for Snake, cutscene dialogue and the dated controls kinda pushed me away. But it has the markings of a great game, no doubt.
Rick_D Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 that looked fucking awful, the gay floor humping and the lame little robots and the barrel.. wtf is with the barrel. I have lost all faith in the japenese, they should stick to making panty vending machines and stop making such utterly gay games in such wonderfully original locales as "the middle east"
MrBaracuda Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 YOSH! GAMBATTE NEE? I lol'd good old mazzletof~~~
