Ubisoft announces FarCry 2

Following FarCry developer Crytek's 2004 deal with EA to create a new game--which eventually would become the much-anticipated shooter Crysis--Ubisoft was left alone with the rights to the FarCry franchise. News of their planned sequel broke after images were accidentally included in an Ubisoft press kit. (...)

FarCry 2 is under development by Ubisoft Montreal. No further details were released at this time.

Looking forward to see first ingame screens, because I'm curious what Ubi Soft can tickle out of Cry Engine 1 still today. The concept art sure does look promising, love Africa as a setting!

Seriously though, wtf. I really liked the original FarCry, it did have some pretty annoying bits but overall its still a solid title. But Ubisoft have managed to totally clusterfuck whatever the FarCry franchise had going for it with an absolute shit storm of awful sequels. Does anyone really hold any value to the Far Cry name anymore?
