slicky Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 ok apparently i should have been more clear, i meant it doesnt tile without artifacts. so THERE! JERKS! i consider that to be a major artifact. The top section is with the artifacts removed and the old highlights replaced. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 wtf are you talking about? it tiles seamlessly Quote
The Postman Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 The next off topic post gets deleted. More art, less talking. Quote
quotopsy Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 ok so i thought i might try my hand a something a bit more challenging with perhaps some metal in it and i came across this texture but im having a whole lot of trouble to get a good shape out those edges so i was thinking about a bevel effect... which i had with eye candy back with photoshop 5... uhm so anyways i was wondering if there was a way around using premade effects for this one or if there was a good plug-in with a bunch of useful effect that you guys could suggest (preferably a free one ) Quote
slicky Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 i would use a bevel just because its so difficult to create that by hand, but afterwards i would enhance the edges of the bevel with dodge/burn as fit. Also erase little knicks out of the surface edge that is being beveled so you dont have that perfect edge that makes it look so CG. Quote
Kalashnikov Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I don't see much error in terms of tiling for that textures, all I see is a bunch of white errors which muck it up! Anyways, I've gotten all the textures onto one file server now, but I know there is another out there. Is everyone alright with our development team using the textures (all credits given of course)? OL Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 csharp i think you should make the entire texture the color of your shadowed area, and then make the shadow a little darker. would look more like the origional Quote
this is the clown Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 not bad csharp but don't over use the clone brush, i can see quite a few repeats in there Quote
stalnation Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 i know this was done before but i made a new version of it old: new: please post your comments, i know it doesn't fit the aspect ratio rules.... Quote
