El Moroes Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Hi all, I'm happy to present you my last map made for a contest and called dm_moroes (mmm yes, it's called like that because it's the official name of the contest). We had to build our map in one week around two words which were "Nature" and "Technology"... so here mine work. .jpg' alt='emot_cool.gif' alt='8)'>.jpg'> Oh and yes, it was on Mapping-Area and the map is build for 8 players! It's a beta, so I can continue it if I want Mmmh and here the url to download it : dm_moroes Quote
FrieChamp Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Sorry for straight honesty - the treehouse isn't too bad at all (except for the wooden corners in the ceiling UGH!), but just throwing in Warby's dystopia props in there doesn't make it a good nature-technology symbiosis What is the fiction behind the level? Mazy Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Hmmm yeah, looks good but yeah, that robo spider doesn't really look like it belongs there, hmmh. Quote
insta Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 The technology part seems like a bit of an afterthought, since it's just Warbys models scattered around the map. Also, in the greenhouse the texture scaling on the windows is a bit wacky, you could use a plain glass texture and then do the frames with brushes. Also, I don't like the large shrubbery in the middle of the gameplay area, since bastard players are likely to hide in there and nail you with a crossbow when you walk past Quote
Zacker Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Friechamp and the other replies pretty much nailed it. Overall it looks ok, especially the greenhouse, but it feels an a lot like a premade map with warby's models smacked in. Quote
El Moroes Posted July 13, 2007 Author Report Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks for your critics and I prefer have the straight honesty of these! I'll made a b2, but later and I'll try to make a beter integration of these mdls Quote
Warby Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 i agree with everyone my models don't go well with the rest (its a though topic/task i might add here ) -but removing my props is the wrong approach clearly -replace everything BUT my props i SAY Quote
Psy Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Looks pretty nice imo but the textures look really stretched. Quote
El Moroes Posted July 15, 2007 Author Report Posted July 15, 2007 I'll make a second version wich will be more realised! Thanks for comments! Quote
sk3tch Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Screenshot 2 the trees look a little dark but Looks sweet! Quote
