JynxDaddy Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 I'm using photoshop to make some sprites for a little project of mine. But the sprites dont have alpha transparency, its just one color that is transparent. (like HL1 textures) What is the best way for keeping my edges crisp and pixely, without using the pencil tool for everything, because I want things to blend, just not the edge of shapes. THANK YOU SIRS Quote
JynxDaddy Posted July 10, 2007 Author Report Posted July 10, 2007 can you explain more please. Like where that option is Quote
Quakis Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 You want to make sprites, in photoshop, using a solid colour that emulates as transparency while keeping the edges crisp and pixelly? Index colour mode perhaps? (Image>Mode>Index Colour...) I've recently been told about it which is pretty useful (although I just stick to paint for that stuff) Quote
Thrik Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 I'd personally be inclined to just make my sprite smoothly, and then use the polygonic lasso tool (hold down your button on the lasso tool and then choose the one with sharp corners) with anti-aliasing disabled (tickbox near the top of the screen). Zoom in, then carefully draw the boundary of your sprite. Once you're done, cut and paste it onto your bright green background. Any other method would be too much pissing around for me to bother with. Quote
