FrieChamp Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 The singer inked a £2 million deal with American clothing brand Candie's. The deal is a first in pop music - rather than namechecking the Top Shop-like brand, Fergie's contract states that she will write songs from scratch that specifically promote Candie's. However, the chain has no say in when Fergie will release the songs, or their exact content. Yesterday (July 1) an executive at her label, Interscope, told The Sunday Times: "With record sales in decline, you must find novel ways to make money out of music. The trick is to make the brand part of the song so it slips down easily rather than choking the fan." http://www.nme.com/news/fergie/29370 The whole entertainment industry is getting more corrupt every day it seems..
