Successor to Wasteland/Fallout in the works? Confirmed!

1Up Managing Editor Garnett Lee dropped an interesting hint at the 80:50 mark in a podcast two weeks ago:

I think we are going to see a spiritual successor to Fallout One and Two from the guy who originally did Wasteland, and I'm just going to leave it at that.

As most of us know, Brian Fargo (the founder of Interplay and producer of Wasteland) now owns the rights to Wasteland with his company InExile Entertainment. Frankly, I'd love to see this happen.

And now, Brian Fargo have confirmed it!

A few days ago, we reported that Brian Fargo might, in fact, be working on a successor to Wasteland. The boards were abuzz with speculation and hope. Well, we got word from the man himself. Brian Fargo, the founder of Interplay and the producer of the original Wasteland, told DAC the following:

I am indeed looking into bringing back the game that spawned the Fallout series. Stay tuned....

I guess there is still hope for a game that can live up to the real Fallout 3 name, instead of some spin-off, I'm stoked!

What? This isn't Fallout 3, this is about Wasteland 2, it's another game made by some of the original Fallout crew, how about you actually read the stuff?

For a second I thought the article was talking about "Wasteland HL"...that was a cool MOD actually...I miss Posty sometimes
