Mazy Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Definitely gonna check it out this weekend. This must be the first real big mod release for Source. Looks like it could be a lot of fun if you play it with the right people. ~ Quote
ifO Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Massive congrats to all involved. I can't check it out til I upgrade my PC but from the ingame stuff I've seen on youtube it looks like a hell of a release. Quote
dc-mike Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 visuals are massivley impressive, however i personally dont like the gameplay much, then again im an avid counter-strike player so that about explains that doesnt it mad props to the leveldesigners, modellers and texture artists. Excellent job. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 If it was only one inch, the bullet would have passed grin . Quote
Grin Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Yeah I'm pretty sure it's there unintentionally, maybe some of the devs here can confirm me on that, but it is realistic, and it is really hard at first in the real life. And it is confusing, because even if you're concious about it, your brain keeps telling you "yeah there's at least half a foot of space there" and then you pull the trigger and blow of some ground in front of you. MrBaracuda Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Here's one issue i found in the game : The support weapon of the insurgents, if not maybe all the weapons actually, is shooting a bit lower than the position of the rifle. Like in that pic, the rifle is above the obstacle, and however the bullet go right in it. This is simply a good, realistic thing. Remember that the barrel of the gun is about an inch lower than the sights. lol? I guess the dot of the m4 w/ the aimpoint is also higher Quote
Zeta Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 just set this up for hammer and there is an eye popping number of assets Quote
Grin Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 lol? I guess the dot of the m4 w/ the aimpoint is also higher I'm sorry, but you just said the stupidest thing I have heard on internet for many, many years. The sights never see exactly where the barrel is pointing, unless you're aiming through the barrel, which isn't the case with any rifle, pistol or other hand held projectile gun in the world. They're always centimeters or inches apart, and indoors, it matters. Quote
Zeta Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Yeah mapping for INS is really satisfying i giggled like a school girl when my hopes that the tank turret and body were seperate models turned out to be true. also there's a lot of stuff from maps i assume are either canned or still in the works in the models folder. cant wait till i have time to use it all Quote
hamst3r Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Played for about 6-8 hours in the past two days... I'm addicted. Quote
zeon Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 have to agree. I'm addicted as well. its better than AA and BF.. i simple love the feeling and the sound effects, and the maps are VERY nice. played Baghdad them most. Quote
Skjalg Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I've played it some more now, and I've got a better feel for the game As many others here have pointed out this mod desperatly needs a map function, it would really help nubs learn the maps and not run around beeing totally lost all the time. The more you play, the more you appreciate the fact that there is no crosshair and you have to use ironsights.. Especially in the big open maps it really slows things down and you gotta use your head a little to stay alive Quote
Ginger Lord Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Still cant get into any servers online, or on the 1/100 chance I do I get a Connection Failed error within about 10s. Quote
dux Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 You seem to be the only person having sucha problem. Odd Quote
