hessi Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 make a setting. lets make a "model the shoes you are wearing right now" contest! 512 polies for the pair and 128^2 texture (no normalmapping. only colormap!) that's my suggestion Quote
Psy Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Colour mapping? Please, do tell me what such magic is. Quote
st0lve Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I wear socks indoor, and I have about 5 shoes that I wear every now and then.. Too hard. Quote
Minos Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 How about low poly ships: 500 tris max - 256x256 diffuse + normal/spec/opacity Quote

Minos Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 Looking forward to modeling a hyper rusty russian fishing boat Quote
Spellbinder Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 K just let me say that these low poly contest are awsome. What we need though is something that every one could do that have started with 3dsmax etc. Like for me i think i could pull of to make a shoe. But then the texture? I guess i could use 3dsmax own or maybe try to take some pic but i would fail in uw mapping anyway. So what about starting with making a model with least polys of something. Quote
ifO Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 If the 'something' was a triangle I might be in with a fighting chance. Seriously though, I miss these contests, they were good for me to ghost when I was bored. One day I'll hopefully get time to join in. Quote
Minos Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 Let's do it then ? Could you start the oficial thread peris ? Quote
