Zacker Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?optio ... 5&Itemid=2 We're 14th, which I guess is ok. Quote
FMPONE Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Very cool article, I agree with the top pick in a list for once as well Quote
Furyo Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Well top of the list I would agree with, but many things can be said about the rest of the list. Quote
Coen Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I'm amazed that Scotland is a country... Netherlands comes in 7th ^^ Quote
Rick_D Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 wewt thanks for that Zacker I just applied to half of those companies now Quote
Sentura Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 io's lead programmer is the son of my old english teacher Quote
Gorion Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I'm amazed that Scotland is a country... Netherlands comes in 7th ^^ as in points yes, but "our" company is placed at: 37. Guerilla Games (killzone) Amsterdam, The Netherlands Quote
JamesL Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Well I've gone from 26, to 21 to 7 so I guess at least I am climbing the ladder. Really dont agree with Climax being in 26th on that list though. The games that are name checked as being their biggest hitters were all made by the Brighton studio which was sold along with the team (read talent) to Buena Vista (Disney) about 6 months ago. Quote
Mojo Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Well top of the list I would agree with, but many things can be said about the rest of the list. agreed. Remedy shoulda been higher. Yeah they have only have the Payne series and soon Alan Wake, but Payne were some quality games. I don't really think Avalanche Studios should have beat out Remedy. Just Cause may have looked pretty, but it just didn't play well. Also, I learned that Rare is in Europe, for some reason I always thought it was in the states. Quote
ifO Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Yeah Rare HQ is not far from me, based in a small town that is only otherwise known for its zoo. They gave a guest lecture in one of my graphics lectures and demo'd Kameo prior to 360 release. lol @ Scotland comment. Quote
Warby Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 IO BEATS RARE FTW remedy seriously needs to be higher Quote
Izuno Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Very impressive list of stuff coming out of Europe, for certain. I'm happy to see Traveller's Tales near the top after playing through LEGO SW II. And, is it just me, or does Harry Patter and the Order of the Pheonix seem like a more interesting game to people over 14 yrs old than past Harry Potter games? Somehow I'm actually excited about that and I'm not even a big Harry Potter fan. Strange. Quote
e-freak Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Yes - the new Harry Potter Game looks more promising than it's prequels. Best change was leavin unreal engine 1.5 behind ^^ Quote
