no, there is actually no lighting being done on the scene, so a normal map wouldn't do much unless we decided to add lighting into the calculation. Right now everything is baked vertex colors for speed.

Rim lighting looks to strong imo... but its definitly nice. I'd suggest you increase the contrast of the textures a bit, reduce the rim lighting a little and make the rim lighting a little colored.

there should be a lot more updates in the near future, I just quit my day job! Gonna have a LOT more time to work on ZeroGear.

I can just see it....on Steam in June 08...Zaphod's first game for 9,95 and all of Mapcore bumping into each other remembering the glorious days of Super Mario Kart :)

I can see that happening too! Go indie games! Go Zaphod! :-D

I will concede it is probably too strong, it's so easy to overdo things when you are first excited to start playing with them :)

It's directx and opengl.

I'm working on a new character model right now, hopefully I will have another update soon.
