Sindwiller Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Will it run on Linux? Looks really nice though Also, it would be nice to see some comparison shots with RIM enabled and disabled. Quote
zaphod Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 new video: http://nimblebit.blogspot.com/2007/11/r ... est-2.html and per request: Quote
Acumen Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 yah well, i just dont have that flash thingie installed, neither do i want to do so but anyways the west shot looks very cool again prefering this kinda over snow atm Quote
e-freak Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Do these rocks already have a normalmap? because they look very flat and a good normal map could help a lot (see TF2). Anyway: Great looking! Quote
zaphod Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 no, there is actually no lighting being done on the scene, so a normal map wouldn't do much unless we decided to add lighting into the calculation. Right now everything is baked vertex colors for speed. Quote
aevirex Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Rim lighting looks to strong imo... but its definitly nice. I'd suggest you increase the contrast of the textures a bit, reduce the rim lighting a little and make the rim lighting a little colored. Quote
dissonance Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Rim lighting looks to strong imo... I have to agree... can you change it to a yellow-er hue to make it look... hotter? Desert-er? Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Yeah, at the moment it gives a frosty glowy look, which looked fine on the snow map. But it doesn't fit as well with that theme imo. Quote
FrieChamp Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 I am having a Monkeystrike flashback after watching that snow track video: http://monkeystrike.planethalflife.game ... lause2.JPG there should be a lot more updates in the near future, I just quit my day job! Gonna have a LOT more time to work on ZeroGear. I can just see it....on Steam in June 08...Zaphod's first game for 9,95 and all of Mapcore bumping into each other remembering the glorious days of Super Mario Kart I can see that happening too! Go indie games! Go Zaphod! Quote
dissonance Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Will it run on Linux? Hmm... yeah, is it opengl? Quote
zaphod Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 I will concede it is probably too strong, it's so easy to overdo things when you are first excited to start playing with them It's directx and opengl. I'm working on a new character model right now, hopefully I will have another update soon. Quote
⌐■_■ Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 somebody write an article about this thread Quote
dissonance Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 It's directx and opengl.YESSSSS! Quote
NormySan Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 I must say that this is coming along relly nicely. Keep up the great work! Quote
