st0lve Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 we now have a name, and I fucking love that logo, it really looks like some awesome indie game. Quote
dux Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Awesome stuff, Zaphod. My only criticism is that the frozen section (where the road looks like it's iced over) blends in with the snow on the side of the tracks quite a bit making it hard to see where the track is. Yeah same here! Quote
zaphod Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 totally, the ice lake is way too bright, it gets blown out. When I get to driving around on this one I will probably have to make a higher rez road texture and will probably end up scaling down the lines in the process. Quote
zaphod Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 there should be a lot more updates in the near future, I just quit my day job! Gonna have a LOT more time to work on ZeroGear. Quote
st0lve Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Great news, now I have a reason to check this thread daily! Are there any ingame things working yet? Quote
zaphod Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 we have a level with collision, a simplistic driving model and camera, and a rudimentary gui implemented. Quote
PaulH Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I've been lurking on these forums for a while and following this thread since it started, it's all looking ace good job Quote
zaphod Posted November 16, 2007 Author Report Posted November 16, 2007 this should turn into something interesting in the next couple days: http://nimblebit.com/ Quote
Rick_D Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 I do hope you put in some gameplay elements other than just driving - it'll be a short lived game if it;s just mario kart without the bananas Quote
madcow Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Like the ability to jump onto other peoples carts and kick them off if it goes fast than yours! Quote

Furyo Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 See, I can see myself being happier spending 20 bucks on this game than on a lot of the games currently out. It's just totally awesome, and if you can make it Mac compatible, you'd even have yourself a niche there maybe worth exploring. Especially if both Mac and PC users can play together. I'm thinking of long boring classes where students have laptops Quote
Acumen Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 alternative video download possibility please Quote
zaphod Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 alternative video download possibility please ? does that vimeo thing not work? A flash video is the last thing I thought anyone would have a problem with. I'm working on making a rim lighting video with spaghetti west, I think it's going to look a lot more noticeable than the shill mountain one. Quote
