Vinny Testaverde Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 ---- (guess) and you've probably seen this: http://ian-albert.com/misc/zelda3.php please post your favorite snes maps or sprites you have... I found going through these maps very nostalgic. Quote
Minos Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Jon that's neat http://jonmonaghan.com/stuff/turtlesalley7xk.gif I'll post some as soon as I get home Quote

Taylor Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I don’t understand this thread! Sure, retro and awesome, but I don’t see how straight lines are your mapping roots. Quote
FMPONE Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I don’t understand this thread! Sure, retro and awesome, but I don’t see how straight lines are your mapping roots. inspiration, baby I can tell you the Megaman games were without a doubt some of the most interest games I've ever played environment wise, very distinct and unique little environments packed into one game Quote
Vinny Testaverde Posted May 25, 2007 Author Report Posted May 25, 2007 perhaps by re-energizing all those neural pathways that were created when you played these games during nascent years of life while your brain was still very much forming, you can your strengthen all your artistic neural pathways about thinking in digital space because they all stem from those earlier ones. I know as a 7 year old kid I spent hours immersing myself in these 8bit and 16bit worlds. They are very primitive so much imagining was done. If I can go back and tap into that pure digital creativity, I think I would benefit, not just in level design (because I don't even map anymore) but in general. Quote
Sentura Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I don’t understand this thread! Sure, retro and awesome, but I don’t see how straight lines are your mapping roots. no soul whatsoever. youve just lost what little respect i had for you. you probably dont care though Quote
Taylor Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 You're right, I'd rather you got purged from the forums and forgotten about since you contribute nothing but flamefest and stupidity, and the moment you appeared the forums quality took a nose dive. I've played and enjoyed all the games posted, all back when they were released and my PC/PSP are swimming with emulators. If I'm anything it's and old-school gamer. The point was as far as actual mapping goes, there's none. JonM's responce was a good one and I accept. Yours is making sure my respect for you stays in the negative. Quote
ifO Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I agree, I didn't care a damn about mapping while I was playing that generation of games. And I'm very dubious about anyone who claims that they did. You all got into mapping from FPSs like I did, claiming any different is lies! Inspiration? Sure. Mapping roots? No way! Quote
