jaboo224 Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 truly great marketing tbh. People were scared of the cartoon feel, i think they are probably shutting up now ;D Quote

ifO Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 First my arse, there was gameplay footage out ages ago! *downloads anyway! edit: Okay you could maybe say it was the first 'first person' gameplay footage. Really looking forward to this game, one of the main reasons for me upgrading my pc. Quote
-HP- Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Really looking forward to this game, one of the main reasons for me upgrading my pc. This game doesnt look to heavy on the system, if you ran HL2, you'll run this one for sure! Quote
ifO Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Ah but my computer is a crash-prone PoS. Quote
Furyo Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 ":ipnf1wi5]Really looking forward to this game, one of the main reasons for me upgrading my pc. This game doesnt look to heavy on the system, if you ran HL2, you'll run this one for sure! Far from the truth really. DoD Source is far more comp intensive than Hl2, and TF2 will probably be more than DoDS.... Quote
Thrik Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Yeah, indeed. It might not look like it at a glance but there's a lot of lighting passes and shit going on, and Valve said in an older interview that they're including gigantic textures so owners of 768mb GeForce 8800 GTXs and stuff can enjoy ultra-sharpness. st0lve Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Sharp comic textures? Erhm that sounds kinda weird to me. Unless it's for Ep2 and not mainly for TF2. Quote
Thrik Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 They might be comic-like, but they do have actual texture to them. I don't know if you ever played a game on 1920x1200, but I can assure you most textures start to look quite blurry once you get near them in the majority of games. Having them remain sharper for that bit longer rather than becoming fuzzy is a much appreciated change. Quote
Taylor Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Yeah, the levels themselves look rather detailed in places. More demanding than HL2 and DoD:S seems a stretch though. Quote
PhilipK Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 hmm yeses,,,,detailed levels....i like it Quote
Defrag Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Like Thrik said, they're using some new shaders for the characters, so it might be quite a bit more intensive. Or maybe it won't. Looks bloody ace. I still crack up every time I see the soldier's run animation. Quote
-HP- Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 hmm yeses,,,,detailed levels....i like it Me too, but by x800 don't... Quote
