We could easily have the same as we had on the 1024 contest, but larger.

Like 'make a singleplayer level 2048x2048 units', that will force people from not doing the typical corridor running action, but more focus on ONE situation.

More like a little gameplay element that could be like "oh this is the time I'm introduced to this type of level miniboss thingy".

Like, "Hold the barricades, omfgbbq the fuckers are breaking through, kill them, omfg gunship ahead go collect that rpg they're keeping in their safe and destroy it!!!"

Like 5-10 minutes gameplay that takes place on one location, to see who can make the most out of it.

Edit - custom content should really be up to the person making it, but most time should prolly be spent on the actual layout and scripting to make it hella phunnn.

i might be some what new, but i recomend this idea. It is the simplest, and would bring the best out of a level designer. Then like 10 peeople try the level out, and judge it. the winner is the one with the best, gameplay, action, and memorability.(ie. a small battle with 4 combine, and 2 rebels, and yourself. Then out of nowhere, 3 combine dropships come and drop 12 guys, and they start to flank. then yyou receive reinforcements. then out of nowhere a strider comes, and destroys your building.)

Rube Goldberg map! :-D Or is that too 'garry's mod'?

Tried it, not a really good idea if you wanna know..

Havok doesn't like ball models being pushed by block-entities.

After 20 or 30 models, it starts to be really laggy and tricky (everything starts to be ejected from the modules)

let's make a hypercube map ak.a the C.U.B.E, the aim is to escape the cube without dying or being trapped.

"The film was a very successful product of the Canadian Film Centre's First Feature Project. Despite its low budget, the film achieved moderate commercial success and has acquired something of a cult status as a niche science-fiction title.

Much of the film's appeal lies in its surreal, almost Kafkaesque setting — no extensive attempt is made to explain what the cube in which the characters are confined is, or why it is created, or why the "inmates" were specifically selected to be imprisoned inside. Although the world "outside" is referred to, it is presented in an extremely abstract fashion as either a dark void or a bright white light."

you can take some ideas from here:

http://www.interlopers.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=12

You have the sugestions thread wich has lots of nice ideas.

You can also check the rules since they are being updated for more then a year now, and cover all the possibilities, they were even used on the addondb competition.

And you can check all the competitions we made so far to get some ideas.

Use what you want, i don't mind :)
