Fallout help

Hai fallout fans. I just started playing and I got a problem. When I barter with someone... say I sell a Leather Jacket for $300 - how comes I don't get any money? I'm patched to 1.1 is this a bug or am I missing something?

Don't you need to drag things from their inventory into their barter box? I think it will say your leather jacket is worth $300, but that only means you are allowed to drag $300 worth of their inventory into their trade window to match the value. So if they don't have anything, or don't have 300 worth of stuff, then you can't sell your jacket to them for full price. If you don't drag anything from them, you will be giving them that $300 jacket for free.

Been a long time since I played Fallout, but I think that is how it works.

Yeah, Reno is right, if you won't put anything from his inventory on the table, you will give your stuff away for free .

It's been a while since I tried fallout 1, but it's a good game. Actually, I still need to complete fallout 2.. and right now I'm bored... hmm

Hmm, you just need to be bored for the next 2 months and then you can complete it Right now I'm at a spot where my weapons/armor/stats aren't quite good enough to proceed with the next major mission, so right now I'm just putzing around trying to get some exp and gather more stuff.

BTW running into the giant Radscorpions in the desert = best ever. Worst they can do is poison me, can't damage me through my armor(unless critical, and thats rare), and I get like 1100exp for each encounter ..

Hey guys I need more help, I've looked at guides but they don't specifically mention this :

I'm in Junktown and just after killing the Skullz gang members I'm leaving for the Hub but when I try to leave with Tycho the guard at the main gate who told me not to carry my weapons around unloads on Tycho because his weapon is still drawn. Anyway to leave with Tycho or do I have to leave him behind?

Oh and is there a way to make your character permanently run? So slow walking around.

twiz where are you? I have been stuck in NCR for a while because I fucked around and said the wrong things to the wrong guy... I don't feel like going to SF just yet... And I'm kinda worried that I might not make it in time with the GECK.

I'm just a little bit ahead of you. I pretty much skipped Reno. I boxed a couple times, did one mission for one of the families, which then proceeded to glitch out so I gave up on Reno. It was the one where you had to collect money from two brothers(C-something?) I found one of the brothers (who looked like a female character?!) in the porno studio, but he wouldn't talk to me, and I couldn't find the second brother. So I killed him. Then the gang leader got mad and wasted me. He also wasted me after I boned his daughter, and after I boned his wife. And if I ever came back to him without completing the mission. Guess I have to wait until he knows me before I can shag them and not be suspicious. The guy is easy to piss off I guess.

Reno was just annoying me in general so I left.

Right now, I've just finished bringin the GECK to Arroyo. I started poking around the Military base, but I got my ass whooped by some mutants. I still have a bunch of incomplete missions throughout the world, so I think I'm gonna go roaming around. I want to get Marcus in my party, so I got a couple more missions to do there before I can get him to follow me. I'll probably go back to the Military Base with my Bozar and rape them all. There should be some good loot in there

The game is pretty forgiving about saying the wrong things. One thing I regret doing is breaking into the arms dealer's shop in New Reno, because at that point I didn't realize that shops are only open during the day So he got mad and attacked me, so I killed him. And now I can't buy a part I need to fix Vault 13. Although theres supposedly another one in Vault City's vault, but I couldn't find it.

P.S. being a slaver sucks. Helps out tons right in the beginning, you get info easy around the Den and you get to go on slaver runs which is just awesome for leveling up and getting an arsenal built up. Definately not worth it in the long run though.

By military base do you mean the one under navarro or the sierra army depot? I've been in the SAD and got the cybernetic robot brain, which serves as repair/science bot...

I accidentally got married at that farm with that farmer's daughter, and i've got some weird people with me generally. Have you met pariah?

Oh yeah, I also need some water chip for vault 13. That's what i remember. that was fucking annoying
