tomdon Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 I am some what stuck here. I run 2 lcd screens, a dell and a viewsonic. They both show the colours slightly differently, I have also had a look on an old crt. At the moment I am kind of aiming for a middle ground where they look ok across the board. Quote
D3ads Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Looks fantastic, couple of things: - The side of the 'panel' on the right of the inside screen with the tree isn't aligned very well, maybe make a seperate texture for it? - The curtains would benefit by having some rips/tears in them and a bit more grime. It's like Stalker meets Silent Hill Quote
bitmap Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 wow. its looking pretty awesome! keep this thread updated:D Quote
tomdon Posted May 1, 2007 Author Report Posted May 1, 2007 Work in progress shot, this is down in the basment, large vaulted ceiling above. Trying to make it dingy, but not so dingy it does not sit well with the other shots. Need to think of a few props to make to put down here. I am planning on having some weeds and grass growing between the cracks in the tiles. resized and compressed pic: Quote
von*ferret Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 looks hot except for the tile floor, thats letting me down. Quote
tomdon Posted May 1, 2007 Author Report Posted May 1, 2007 Might have to imagine grass and crap on it. I know what you mean, at the moment it does not work right, I am assuming my plan will sort it out. Quote
tomdon Posted May 2, 2007 Author Report Posted May 2, 2007 Update, added some stuff, tweaked some stuff. Quote
e-freak Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 the foot high line on the base of the wall is very lowres and the texture does not seem to fit. lighting is great though Quote
von*ferret Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 sorry but color would go a long way, even subtle color. Quote
Defrag Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 That peeling wallpaper is popping like an 80s breakdancer. Nice texturing Quote
D3ads Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 You can see obvious tiling on the left hand wall and it lacks ambience, but I know you'll get there I'm glad that you're showing progress on each section as oppose to just replacing old shots with new ones Quote
tomdon Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 Finished animation, windows movie maker has arsed up the borders, I cant be bothered to work out why, so you will have to put up with funny borders. http://tomdon.net/Desolation_Tom_Darroch.wmv Mirror: Use the tomdon link if you can please, I have less bandwidth at itsabeast. http://itsabeast.com/Desolation_Tom_Darroch.wmv Quote
Meotwister Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 borders seemed fine to me. I like the pacing of the video that was nice... I got a good chance to look at what was being shown to me. One thing that raised an eyebrow from me was the beginning shot of like an approach to the house and the detail sprites were rotating to face the player kinda blatantly but I guess it kinda looked like parting grass which is what you may have thought to... or not. It looked kinda off to me to have that in there, though I know theres not much you can do about that except change the way you show the house. Only other thing I saw worth mentioning was that the last shot of that new stairway scene seemed darker in the video and I could hardly see the tile with the new grass... idk if that was just me or how the video was. Very nice, quality work in there tomdon sure to get ya a job. Quote
