The last worst movie i saw was Duel

You mean the Spielberg classic?

People don't know anything about movies here...

Yes, the spielberg movie. It bored me to death. It was so slow going.

Also the whole movie is explained on the back cover of the DVD and kind of ruins the plot on how you never find out who the truck driver is.

dont get me wrong - the village was a good concept, and a good movie (even if some of the actors were very b grade), but the ads made it look like a village that was under attack by some creatures, and that this is what the movie revolved around. it made it look like a thriller movie, and it wasn't.

if i had seen it without seeing any trailers, and not expecting a thriller movie - i would probably have enjoyed it more.

OMG!!! I just found this review of The Village (and pretty much all the Shyamalan films) and it's saying the EXACT same thing that I've been trying to say.

I deleted all the spoilers and plot/acting stuff.

TNight_1 so far as I can see is the only reviewer got it right. This IS Shyamalan's best film to date. Shame only one in 200,000 people have the mental resources to tap into it.

This never was a horror-film, any more than SIGNS was about aliens. (I have incidentally received over 300 emails worldwide asking me to explain what really DID happen in SIGNS)

Shyamalan is evolving as a precocious talent in all facets of film-making and if he continues at the rate he is...he may even have fifty fans by the end of 2005. I don't know why he bothers. To collar the collective lame-brain reviews that his films do, is merely evidence of how far down the intellectually-appreciative time-line the average viewer is!

As for the one-dimensional viewer seated there, ingesting handfuls of stale popcorn between his Diet Coke, waiting to be scared witless by the forest-creatures.....I have little sympathy for your ultimate disappointment. You had no clue about SIGNS either....what were you thinking? maybe you got intelligent overnight?

Despite those who claim to have seen the 'twist' in THE SIXTH SENSE coming a mile off, (yeah right!) the MENSA graduates who 'figured out' UNBREAKABLE during the first quarter, and now the hordes of cerebrally-challenged patrons who see in THE VILLAGE a 'boring,' 'wooden' film with a 'cop-out' ending, there is thankfully a minority group who grasp what they see. That doesn't include the reviewer so interminably stupid, he even writes he 'didn't know' what the end meant!

Far from the laughable perception that Shyamalan is running on empty with his last couple of films, he is metamorphisising into a Director par excellence. His is the big picture, most critics it would seem, can't even agree on the suitability of the frame!

The only thing I don't 100% agree on is the second sentence.

I'm just about to watch the new Resident Evil movie, I'll post my opinion here in a few hours (I love zombies, so it will probably not be a bad movie in my opinion)

Edit : its boring and it sucks

Grayfox - if the village was not portrayed as a thriller movie, people would probably not have been dissapointed. The advertising is what let that movie down.

If I had seen it without having seen the ads, I probably would have enjoyed it more.

Hero is very shallow imo. Beautiful pictures but no soul.

And the story doesn't go forward at all 'cause it's just flashbacks of the SAME events... i.e. two ppl were fughting and guy #1 wins. Then another guy tells the same story and we see the battle again (a little different) and guy #2 wins.

Basically the movie is just fighting in beautiful scenery without good story telling...

i saw Bourne supremacy.

Not as good as the first one but still pretty good. I thought it was a bit too short and the camerawork in the action scenes was very shocky to a point where you couldnt even see what was happening.
