they have them almost every month...

they'll be starting a new one soon, keep eyes peeled

they started it.. its not really low poly this month though. It's get the trial version of mudbox and make the funniest thing you can out of the sphere primitive :P

I have an idea for one, although I wouldn't know a good idea on max polies to make things challenging yet possible. If no one minds though I could at least start one for March, people can bitch at me if the rules suck... :D

I like the asian weapon theme. Maybe open it up to just Medieval weapons? Then the old asian stuff could be included, but give more variation, like maces and clubs and crossbows and axes.

well im pretty much going very similar to the contest last month at game-artist so i dont think the texture sizes were too big

just look at last months medival contest it was 250 polys (mine was 300)

and the textures were 512x512

its not because they do it like that on game artist.net that it makes perfect sense :S. I can't think of any game engine or console that lets you use this ammount of texture memory but limits yourself that a polycount like that. I'd rather do a low poly competition that makes sense and that the contestants would learn something from and make something that could be useful on a portfolio.

I think we should stay with limitations that makes sense and would be useful for actual game assets that would be used. And I know that people at game artist have been complaining about their competions for thesame reason.

There's no reason we should copy game-artist.net.
