stormseeker Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I know its old, but I didn't find it on here. http://www.cstrike-planet.com/maps/974 anyway, was released back in 2005. Quote
OrnateBaboon Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I played this ages ago. I am not really a big fan of hostage maps, but for me, this plays extremely well. Its definitely worth a download I love the combination of inside and outside sections, and the closeness of the combat. It has a really nice feel to it as well. I think an icy river could look good in the map, and reckon that the roofs should be blended with snow, rather than being completely covered in it. Quote
Sindwiller Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I played that once, and it was very funny Very nice to play and very nice look for GoldSrc. Quote
sk3tch Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Stormseeker knows ho I feel on this map. Quote

ifO Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 When did all you posers start calling it Goldsrc, jesus... noone calls it that.. it's the half-life engine! And yeah it looks great! Quote
kleinluka Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 they say it cause it sounds cooler and more techy than "Half-Life Engine" or "HL1" Quote
NykO18 Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 When did all you posers start calling it Goldsrc, jesus... noone calls it that.. it's the half-life engine! Half-Life engine's name is "Goldsource" you know. Quote
ReNo Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Its true nobody used to call it that, but then thats because, as far as I know, nobody KNEW it was called that. Its clearer to use "Goldsource" than "HL1" when referring to the engine, because HL1 could refer to either the engine or the game. Of course thats all a load of bollocks really, as its normally pretty damn obvious which you are talking about, but I don't see any harm in using the "official" name now that it finally has one Quote
e-freak Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Goldsource is the heavily modified version of the QuakeWorld engine that Half-Life runs on. For information about converting Goldsource content to the Source engine, see Porting Goldsource content to Source. See: Valve Developer Wiki See: Wikipedia No Posing on that term. Just a correct name noone used. Quote
Rick_D Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 uh, that's not HL1 ... unless they implemented 3d skyboxes, normal maps, displacements and etc etc without telling anybody. Quote
ifO Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Yeah good call Rick. I guess more than a second's glance at the pics and anyone woulda noticed. I know what Goldsource means, it just bothers me... because in however many years of HL gaming and mapping no-one has ever called it that and now all of a sudden it's Goldsource this and Goldsource that. Bollocks I say! See in that quote of e-freak's they use it 3 frickin times in 2 sentences Quote
SnipaMasta Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Can remember playing this quite a bit on a mate's server - nice map. Cool secret too. Quote
D3ads Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 uh, that's not HL1 ... unless they implemented 3d skyboxes, normal maps, displacements and etc etc without telling anybody. Yes it is, where does it suggest otherwise? Skybox support is enabled in Spirit Of Half-Life FYI. Quote
