Hey. Im need of a .gif > .dat app. I have been searching google like half a day now. Only thing i find thats even cloose is a .dat > .gif converter which is bull since all you have to do is to rename it. So im putting my hopes to you guys. Any one had any experiance with this or knows an app for it? Ultimate would be freeware but as long as i get any name i would be gratefull. Thx in advance!

.dat can be anything. you can use any fileextension with any fileformat. so what we would need is an information of the fileformat. not the fileextension.

Well i made a gif anim and i want to see if i can use it in msn messanger. Msn messanger use its picture as .dat i was able to use the gif i wanted but it wasnt animated. and there are other pictures that are animated so im thinking there has to be a way to do this. and thx a lot skdr i downloaded and tried that app, but for now i haven't got it to work, maybe i do something wrong. but if nothing else you gave me a hint on what to search on at least, i only searched for .gif > .dat and .gif > .dat converter. Ill try out gif 2 dat too.

Animated pictures as an avatar in MSN? YOU ARE INSANE!

Why is that? There are lots of them out there, i just want to know how they did them or even more simple convert gif's. It seems like its very secret about all this, perhaps because some thinks they can make money out of ppl that wants some fun stuff in their msn. But if i could do my own graphics to it why should i or others that want to use it have to pay for it? Or dl free stuff thats full of spyware and crap.
