Cur Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Recently I been doing some wall textures for a project. But I can't figure out one thing, and I'm curious if some more experienced fellows could help me. Where do you create/use/make wall patterns? I'm saying like floral, emblems, crests, those redudant patterns that are on walls. In example.. pretty much all the walls of DoD. I'm not saying stripes, actual designs. I'm trying to do a floral-flowery type design over the wall, but i'm having trouble making it tile for a 512x512 or 1024x1024. any advice or sites? Quote
PhilipK Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Hmm I didn't quite understand. Perhaps you want to use decals (overlay textures)? I'm not really sure if I'm on the right track heh... In dod they rely heavily on unique decals that are placed in the editor on the walls, grounds etc to "grunge" it all up. If you didn't mean that I believe I need some more explanation to understand Quote
Cur Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Yeah I apologize, not being on my PC I have no pictures I can get from DoD. I just can't.. find the correct name of the things. Like wallpaper. Patterns? Wall decors, basically. Quote
TeddyBear Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Well... Google, copy, paste, overlay Quote
Cur Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 But I'm asking more what is that called? Wall decals? And any specific sites that give a large res? Quote
TeddyBear Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Ah! Sorry Maybe this will help? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallpaper_group Quote
e-freak Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 ornaments, isn't that the term? on those you have to play a little with selection tools to make them good tileable. easiest thing to do is get the main parts as seperate objects, paste them into the 512 and then repaint the small lines connecting them.
