mcjewels Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 dod_twilight Allied forces have been using a french chateau winery as a temporary stronghold. As the Axis forces try to eliminate the allied base, reinforcements from both sides fight to secure the estate and surrounding area. Some of you might recognize part of this map from an early detonation version called dod_daybreak I released for CAL. Twilight is quite a bit larger, better looking, and has a much better framerate. This is as it was meant to be. DOWNLOAD By Kyle Aronson, McJewels, lifeismega at gmail Images: Quote
FMPONE Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Great to see your post on mapcore! Welcome As I've said to you before, I love your level, there are tons of little creative touches (love your displacement-based map ) Overall though I think you might want to play with the map for some more atmosphere, while it isn't bad it doesn't do the map justice. FrieChamp Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 That looks fuckin badass, I love the destroyed interiors! Quote
von*ferret Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 pretty neat. Dunno if its my monitor but the pictures dont seem vibrant. Quote
Gorion Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 nope, not your monitor. Color's aren't that "dynamic" or hdr, bit blant. besides that, it looks very nice Quote
von*ferret Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Even considering he isn't using HDR, they seem really washed out. Quote
mcjewels Posted February 1, 2007 Author Report Posted February 1, 2007 yeah, for some reason when i take a screenshot in DOD its really dark. I boosted the brightness, but that did make it seem a lot duller than it really is. just did a little batch saturation to em and reupped. and FMPONE... the atmosphere is pretty much the same as argentan, but a little darker... I didnt want to tweak it too much because i dont want to have to make people download a custom skybox. I'll probably do some slight modification to it however. thanks for the feedback guys! Quote
mjens Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 yeah, for some reason when i take a screenshot in DOD its really dark. I boosted the brightness, but that did make it seem a lot duller than it really is. just did a little batch saturation to em and reupped. try to change in-game gamma or use program like hypersnap... about map: I don't have DOD now so I'm ony watching screenies Looks very nice. I guess gameplay is good too Good work! Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 i like it a reallly lot. only comment is taht the broken wall in the last picture looks like crap Quote
jaboo224 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 looks nice with the destroyed interiors but needs more debris, a wall that was broken doesn't leave a clean floor. good design overall tho gj! Quote
Rick_D Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 i like it a reallly lot. only comment is taht the broken wall in the last picture looks like crap Yeah, I noticed that. Except I'd say that most of the walls look a bit lifeless. Have you tried displacing those broken walls and just tweaking them out so it's not all 90 degree angles - it'd make it a lot more dynamic and wouldn't hit the performance. Quote
mcjewels Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 word, I see what you mean. I suppose the wall in the last pic especially could use some displacement. and yeah, there should be more rubble too. good advice, keep it comin! Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 in that third pic you might want to put some fancy thingies on top of the pillars in the wall, they look a little too basic Quote
Josch Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Looks incredible This map would be a serious reason to buy DOD:S Quote
sk3tch Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 ...downloading. (I never do that btw...usually I just wait until a server is playing it and join). Looks very broken and war torn. I love how it looks. Quote
