Gearbox Software is Hiring Experienced Level Designers

Gearbox Software, veteran game developers and one of the most successful independent game studios in the US, is looking for kick-ass experienced level designers to work on an upcoming Unreal-engine sci-fi action title.

Required skills include:

* Excellent level design skills, preferably using one or more of the following: Unreal/UnrealEd, Doom3/Radiant, or Half-Life Source/Hammer

* An in-depth understanding of single-player and/or multiplayer level design fundamentals

* Playable levels or screen shots available to show, either professional work or published mod work

* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to follow directions and work with a team

* Be passionate about level design and creating great games

Desired Skills:

* Experience with UnrealScript and/or Unreal 3 design tools (UnrealEd, Kismet, etc)

* 3DSMax or Photoshop experience is a plus

All applicants must:

* Have a high school degree and be at least 18 years of age

* Be a US citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States

* Live near or be willing to relocate to Dallas, Texas

Why not just say that it's for the new Alien game.

And you should add a list of the awesome people from the Core working there.

As normal, I'm still in school and I do not live in the US :(

Omg Saphron Burrows was a bitch to work with! She kept telling me how it was on the set of Deep Blue Sea, and how it was better.

Nope, sorry. Post-9/11 it's just such a bitch to get work visas.

On a side note, it's also worth noting that we're also hiring next-gen artists and coders.

i think this is the first time i've seen professional recruitment not requiring 25 years of professional experience. kudos

Reminds me of a job posting I saw in 2002:

"Must have 10 to 15 years of Internet marketing experience."
