Spellbinder Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Its not done for long or anything. Also im not really showing it to get critism or help or anything at this stage. Im just so happy i actually have come this far so i had to show it off Also i know it is way to many tris and faces but im following a tutorial and im just trying to get use to all the different tools at this stage. First some number i guess: Mesh Totals: Verts: 4214 Faces: 8376 O btw if it doesnt show it is gonna end up as a office chair. Quote
Skjalg Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 This looks very nice spelly, keep it up Quote
ShaDoW Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 I followed the same tutorial for that office chair when I first started out with 3D modeling, it wins. Chair is looking good so far. Quote
Spellbinder Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 Yeah? Then maybe you can help me out here. I am stuck at the moment. At number 76) it says and i quote "To fix this, go back to Editable Poly root and create some aditional edges to sustain MeshSmooth interations" endquote. I cant find anywhere to create some aditional edges?? I must have missed something. I searched the internets and only thing i found was a post a guy did and he never got any reply on it Here's the link if you want to get into it more: http://www.3dtotal.com/team/tutorials/hugechair/chair3_02.asp Quote
Spellbinder Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 Ok so i got stuck at that point and haven't yet figured out wth he is talking about. But MutatedJellyFish come up with a plan, skip that step and go on to next step. So i thought i would do that and fired up 3dsm again. But then i was like damn it i want to do this and started again, and failed, so i thought what if i do this instead, and ended up to do it way different then the tutorial. And here is the result: Quote
Skiant Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Very nice mesh, very clean, which is the most difficult thing to obtain when you're starting modelling. Good job. Quote
mjens Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 very nice! my first 3D model (in 3dstudio4) was a car created with boxes Quote
KIIIA Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Did that tut years ago too spellbinder! It`s pretty usefull to get to know several general methods that aren`t that common but very usefull sometimes (Like Loft or Arrays)..... Quote
Spellbinder Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 So how did you solve the number 76)? First off the picture of the seat in the tutorial has this wireframe with lots of squares, mine doesn't. Second only thing i could find about adding additional edges was in user reference and it said i could do it with cut, so thats what i tried. But it become something that was way to hard to shape. The way i did it made the shape almost at once. If i only had made it a bit thicker it would have looked exactly the same aswell. Quote
Spellbinder Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 Its finnished :þ http://www.mapcore.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=135285#135285 Quote
