twiz Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Well, for all the years I've been modeling I've never more than doodled in 3dsm for 10 minutes. My modeling experience is a year or so with MS3d, maybe more? Then 4 years with Rhino3d, and recently been playing around with Pro/E Wildfire 2.0. So a couple days ago I decided it was high time I learned 3dsm. So at first I started on a simple pocket knife I had on my desk.. got about the handle done and decided to move on to something a little more exciting. Did a small bit of a gun but wasn't liking how it was progressing, I was having difficulty adapting to 3dsm. So today while I was putting off continuing my gun, hydeph asks me to model him some random character, for no particular reason. So I go with it, here is how it turned out: He still needs a cape, thats going on tomorrow. He weighs in at a hefty 2132 polies. I started it with a goal of around 2000, and as always I've surpassed that goal, in a bad way The cape will probably add a couple hundred more. Here is the reference pic: And here is a flat shaded version: Comments/crits appreciated Quote
