skdr Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 It's out and I'm really enjoying it! It's here, it's finally here! PVKII has hit the web, picking up the shards from it's HL1 predecessor, twisting and turning them to create leaner, meaner and prettier non-historically accurate action than ever before. Pitting nimble Pirates, powerful Knights and mighty Vikings against each other on the HL2 engine, PVKII features an innovative melee combat system, nearly 100% custom content and a complete lack of ninjas, designed to be all that its predecessor was, and more! Mirrors and stuff here! http://pvkii.com/ Quote

ReNo Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Oooh, might give this a shot during my lunch break tomorrow Good job on getting a first public release out Skalg (and any other slinking PVK team members)! Quote
Skjalg Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 thanks dudes, I did pvk_fort (as you all should know! ) I've been playing it for a couple of hours today (my brother wanted the computer back, damn him). and its awesome! The feedback has just been great, and we have more players than the might and magic game has. Ofcourse, I have no idea how long that will last, but I think it will! Quote
Skjalg Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 just played a bit, lots o fun you have no idea how great that is to hear I've felt so proud today, and I cant find any bad criticism and this makes me so happy I only hope that you all will discover the depth of the combat system, and not stop playing instantly because of a little spawncamping here and there. I must say we really need more maps though, most maps feel cramped right now. Quote
skdr Posted January 3, 2007 Author Report Posted January 3, 2007 Skjalg, we should make a map together. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Vikings are very overpowered from the last 3 hours I played. One attack is pure spam where they hold LMB and circle strafe you till dead, the other has such as massive damage radius and you cant block it. Other than that, top notch. Quote

Other than that, top notch. okay since you are complaining ill give you my Skjalg's tutorial on killing vikings. As a Knight its pretty easy, as long as you switch to your shield and sword. The Longsword will just end up beeing a block fight where you loose and the crossbow, well, if you hit him thats great, but it doesnt kill him. When using your shield and sword, just try to block his every attack and while he is stunned strike him once (1 time) with your sword, any more than this and you'll most likely get a stun back. If he is a blockwhore (like you:P), just try to get a quick one in at his legs. (if hes crouching just jump ontop of him). If you are a pirate, run backwards and shoot (not counting the keg here). When you run out of bullets, you have most likely gained enough on the special meter to use your special attack with the sword. If not; run away. Oh and, thanks for the feedback Quote
Ginger Lord Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 I'll try that. I can usually hold my own 1 on 1 (pirates for life) but due to the confined nature of most of the maps it usually ends up 3 on 1 Got a 6 kill with the powder keg earlier, everyone was fighting each other and I rolled it in the middle Quote
