FrieChamp Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Athlon XP2200+, Gforce 5900 XT, 1024 MB RAM Running fine at 1024x768, high details. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 same with my geforce fx 5600 and it amazed me cos games like farcry and halo run like crap with their bumpmaps n stuff Quote
Tequila Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I think they must be doing one soon, since many people will be in the same situation, not knowing how well it will run or whether it's worth the cash. Anyway I've got some screens of D3 running on my XP2000+, 512Mb DDR, GeForceTi 200 64mb. (I know) Runs perfectly playable on medium with all of the advanced options turn on except for vsync. 800x600. Annoying thing is, I can't run any better, even with numerous tweaks, than 800x600 Medium detail on my R9600XT, gig of DDR and Athlon 2600+ rig. All I want to do is make the jump to 1024x768, but it drops into the 20s during heavy firefights, and I can't live with that. Quote
Bill Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Surely the drop shouldn't be that harsh? Apart from HUD size change you could always compensate with lots of FAA running at 800x600 Quote
Mazy Posted August 7, 2004 Author Report Posted August 7, 2004 The game runs fine on my computer when Im just strolling around, mebbe taking out 1 baddie at a time, but drops to like 10 fps sometimes during big firefights Was really annoying in the start but Ive gotten used to it D: Quote

Mazy Posted August 7, 2004 Author Report Posted August 7, 2004 actually unzipping the pak files into the base dir does improve preformance a bit, did with me Quote
RD Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 ive got the game now, runs pretty sluggish. anyway ive been playin it for about half an hour now, and ive rarely been this bored with a game. i rate it 2 out of 5 stars and give it a PITRD.COM seal of anti climax Quote
Mazy Posted August 8, 2004 Author Report Posted August 8, 2004 lol rd, good to know you play the game properly before u rate it [/sarcasm] Quote

chips Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 athlon xp 2400, geforce4 ti4600, 512 megs DDR. Running well at 800x600 at med detail, drops in the more complex scenes (moving machinery etc...) Good game so far as well, scared me a few times ;p Quote

FrieChamp Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 I was thinking the same jynx, I don't think this is meant to refer to Valve Software. Quote
