Nysuatro Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 An Interactive Computer Quest Designed to Help Kids Cope with Divorce http://www.ziplandinteractive.com/index.php What do think about it? Quote
TeddyBear Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Hehe... I don't know what to think, I haven't played it. Maybe it actually is good, thought through therapy or maybe it's a horrible way of making money on vulnerable kids. Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I think Mrs Chaya Harash first needs to cope with serious texture stretching before releasing this. Quote
Warby Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 i think edutainment (i know thats not precisely what it is) could be really great. animals learn things trough playing and and pretty much JUST playing so why cant we in our future scifi society that we have now ? well mainly because edutainment games are usually quality and usability wise complete rubbish. and yet theres the occasional game like... "sim city" ... i have learned so much more about infrastructure and how society works from that game than from school ^^ but yet sim citys main focus was fun and it was a top notch high quality game that didn't have to hide form everyone else. now a comment more closely related to that video: i don't buy into the opinions of people who make a living off of peoples misery ( psychiatrists and news reporters tieing for the lead). that woman is not trying to make a difference or actually provide something for society by grabbing the evil by its roots ... other wise she would have designed a game for adults that prevents em from start hating each other as soon as they have a child ... or don't get a child to begin with !!! BaRRaKID Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Well with prices like this: Earthquake in Zipland - for parents and kids Holiday Discount: $49.99 (instead of $59.99) Zipland PRO - for therapists and helping professions Holiday Discount: $139.99 (instead of $144.99) It probablly works.... Quote
Warby Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 i didnt even see those prices as i say dont trust people who make money off of the misery of others ! Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 i didnt even see those prices as i say dont trust people who make money off of the misery of others ! er so all doctors should not be trusted? I don't think anyone of us can seriously judge this educational title from watching that 3 minutes clip. Who knows - maybe it helps the kids ?! Quote
Nysuatro Posted December 27, 2006 Author Report Posted December 27, 2006 But do they wanne play this with those crappy graphics? And yes, maybe it helps, maybe not. But i thinbk it will be strange when docters are going to say : "Play this game, and you are cured" Quote

Rick_D Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 We should pool our resources and make a mapcore (edu.core) learning game. Quote
Warby Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 thats a great idea what should we educate people about ? that games aren't evil even though the main stream media claims they are ? maybe ? Quote
SnipaMasta Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 How to kill ethnic minorities - a learning game for all the family. Quote
Rick_D Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I was being totally serious - but the theme itself would be a tough one - how would you portray your theme Warby? I think maybe "Safety in the Workplace" would be an actually commercially viable idea and have some practical use. You could do an office building or a warehouse with LOOK OUT FOR THE FORKLIFT! style "problems". I dunno - just a (albeit bizarre) thought Quote
st0lve Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I love how the try to help people how is having a hard time with a theme that have caused 1000s of families to loose a member or the separated from each other. Quote
Rick_D Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 i'm not sure you were speaking english there :x Quote
