Rick_D Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 http://www.forum.resistanceandliberatio ... #post62118 Or if you're too lazy to click that: We figured we'd go out of this year with a BANG, and so the Team has been working like crazy the past month to not only further along the game, but prepare a trailer of it for you guys to celebrate the Holidays with! This effort represents a major effort by the entire team, as we all worked long and hard to get the game to where it is and film this thing for you guys to enjoy. All that said, ENJOY! RnL Holiday Trailer: High Definition, (720p), 52.2MB (1280x720) Main Mirror Mirror 1 Mirror 2 Mirror 3 Mirror 4 (requires WinRar to unpack) RnL Holiday Trailer: Standard Definition, 23.8MB (726x410) Main Mirror Mirror 1 Mirror 2 Quote
FMPONE Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Awesome Great cinematic feel to it. Quote
ReNo Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Wow, that was easily one of the most professional trailers I've ever seen put out by a mod team. I'm kind of fed up of WW2 FPS games, but from what I know of this one it is doing some very interesting things with its gameplay to make things more realistic. About time a game lost death messages and scoreboards, for example, and looked at the bigger team objectives to gauge performance and progress rather than kill counts. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 The one thing that worries me about RnL is how far they are taking the realism. I'm all for realism, but I think their bordering on the limit and it will be so realistic it won't be fun to play. Disabling team chat is one example. Sure its realistic, but it will certainly make things interesting. Quote
Rick_D Posted December 24, 2006 Author Report Posted December 24, 2006 I can't say I know of many games that go so far to achieve realism, and for those who enjoy realism, well they'll be having fun. I don't like how "fun" is always used to somehow make a game sound less appealing; it depends on the person's definition of "fun", some people find serial killing fun but that doesn't mean everyone does. KoKo5oVaR Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 some people find serial killing fun but that doesn't mean everyone does. quite profound Quote
FMPONE Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 The idea of being online with other people enacting, even if obviously a flawed representation, of a conflict is in my view far more fun than jutting through yet another generic gamey-feeling shooter. Shit I wouldn't complain about breathing and blinking buttons so long as it was intuitive. All the more challenge. Besides, if you want a simple romp through WW2 you shouldn't have a hard time finding one Quote
st0lve Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 They disabled ingame chat? What's fun about playing games when you cannot bash people that you kill? Quote

von*ferret Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 was going to use the same sound track for the mini mod I did for school. Never got around to making a trailer though. and its from the crimson tide movie, about russian subs. Doesn't sound right to be about ww2 Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Can't share your enthusiasm, I'm spoilt by Red Orchestra Quote
Rick_D Posted December 25, 2006 Author Report Posted December 25, 2006 I love RO, but I like source's movement better, it feels much more fluid and realistic - the movement in RO is the only things that I dislike about the game - that and the rampant TKing Quote
Zacker Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 This trailer looked pretty good indeed. Quote
